Does anyone know where I can get a decal to fit the Pontiac inlay in the rear bumper just above the license plate on an 87 Trans Am?
They used to be available from AutoGrafics.com.
It seems the guy went out of business. I can't find a new source for 3rd Gen but the 4th Gen are available but they don't fit our cars.
I contacted Pheonix Graphics they said they would discuss it in their next meeting. The guy didn't sound very positive.
If anyone knows where to get 1 I would be interested in getting it in silver. The tail of the T in mine broke and I need a replacement.
The inlay decals really set off the back of our cars.

I can have them on our website next week. We currently sell the 4th gen version, but I will make changes and test fit on my 1985 Trans Am. We're having a 3rd gen event at our shop on Saturday so I can get some good product pics. They are currently not on the website, but the link below is where they will be next week. 1982-92 Camaro & Firebird Vinyl Graphics (screamingchicken.com)
SCFBODY,
Thanks for the quick response to my request. It's great to have great suppliers like you still supporting our cars.
Hopefully these will be a good seller for you. I will spread the word at the Trans am Nationals in less than 2 weeks now.

Thanks! Wish I was going to the TA Nationals, I went in 2008 and would like to go again some day soon. Long drive from Texas.
The 2021 Trans Am Nationals were great. It was a little hot but they had 494 cars. Are you still thinking of adding the rear bumper inlay sticker for 3rd Gen Trans Am to your catalog!

Yes, something I'm working on. Hopefully ready and on our website in the next couple of weeks. Sorry about the delay.
Sorry about the delay, we're getting a car ready this week to leave for Fbody Beach Bash in South Carolina. After we get back I should be able to wrap this product up. Should be on the website mid October. The 4th gen inlays have nothing in common so had to start over on it which is taking longer than I thought.
Any update on when these might be available?
Thanks
Unfortunately we have been short handed from late October to now, I've had to box orders instead of working on new products. Almost have the lettering done thou just need to make some more changes to the N, A and C then they will be ready. Sorry about the delay. Working on it this weekend also.

Thanks for the quick reply. I was just checking. My car is in storage till spring since I live in Ohio.
I am just grateful that you are taking time to develop it. It's great to have a vendor around who still supports 35 year old cars from a discontinued car brand.

It would be interesting to see that bumper decal in gold for GTAs; it could be a nice compliment and callback to the gold emblem used on the front headlamp trim.

If you look on their website there is a color option on the drop down menu. Gold is listed as a color. You will also find a color sample link. They are also willing to send a color sample.
The lettering really stands out on the bumper.
I hope this helps. I have a set on the way in silver for my car. I will post a picture when installed. It will be awhile since it's too cold in Ohio to install now.
Thanks to Screamingchicken.com. I just got my stickers today. Very good quality with instructions for installation and a free squeegee. Excellent packing.
Now all I need is warm weather, its 20 degrees in Ohio today.

Thanks! remember to email me a pic at scfbody90@gmail.com and I will send you a free t-shirt (when it's warmer is no problem).

I completely missed the GOLD in the drop-down menu. Must have only had three of my four eyes working right at the time. My apologies...
I'm just glad I could help you find what you need. These decals are an inexpensive way to really make our cars stand out. As you can see from my pictures they are of high quality.
Unfortunately got a nasty email from GM enforcement yesterday, they don't approve of the Pontiac lettering being a different color and claim they still have the rights to the name. I asked some questions in response to their email but overall seems like their response will be "do what we say or we sue". So I will no longer be able to sell this product after I get their response. So for future products if you wonder why something with "pontiac" or "firebird" on the product costs so much or isn't available, GM is the reason.
GM still protecting 35 year old lettering? Not even reproducing anything just highlighting existing part of car. Would they sue us for painting the letters? You aren't knocking off a copyrighted part. Many companies manufacture replacement parts for GM vehicles and they aren't threatened.
This is some BULLSHIT from GM. They are the same people who constantly discontinue parts for their own cars. I have a 2009 G8 Gt and they have already discontinued most everything for that model.
Thanks for trying to do something nice for us. It's sad that you got screwed for it.
You would think Mary Barra would have better things to do, what with trying to push us into electric cars and supervising here new autobiographical TV show American Auto.
At first I didn't think they still maintained rights to it, but verified it. The stupid part about the claim is GM thinks putting vinyl in the indention is defacing their logo, it's actually making the name more visible so don't understand that claim at all. Also why does GM care what people do to a car they sold over 35 years ago and discontinued. Just want money, which $30k and 10% is far away from reasonable. If their licensing program was more reasonable I'm sure they could raise a lot more money.
Offer it as a "Secret Menu" item, such as Arby's Meat Mountain sandwich. Most restaurants have secret menus, where you have to be in-the-know to order.
There are vendors who offer parts in a similar manner. I'll mention something that I'm looking, through actual conversation, and the vendor will say, "I've got that, I just don't have it listed on my website." Could be why.
Or like Chris suggested, sell sets of letters or the alphabet. GM can't claim rights to the font. Then car owners can be responsible for the "creation" of their own such modifications.
A lawsuit from GM would put me out of business and i would probably lose everything I own so risk isn't worth reward unless you know a lawyer that works for free. Currently they are cracking down on Ebay sellers but similar products will probably appear there later in the year. Would be so much better if GM had a reasonable licensing program - they could get money, consumer would have good product and seller could sell without getting lawsuit threats.
This is certainly not worth risking your business over. Maybe someone who already pays the licensing fees would buy the patterns from you to recoup your development costs. Maybe someone like Phoenix Graphics.
While it's easy to blame GM, there is no middle ground for them, as I understand it. They must vigorously defend their copyrights and trademarks in all known cases, or risk losing those copyrights and trademarks. They can't be half pregnant. If they let it go in one case, then they will have legal difficulty in trying to defend it in another. If they allow it for one person, then they may have to allow it for all.
