Had to post an engine pick

This is the supercharged 350 I'm building for my '84Z. Just got the SLP headers and decide to bolt some stuff on to see how it would look. I'm pretty happy!

I think I just ruined my under wear. I would change the air filter though. I had one on my 302 Mustang, one back and it got sucked into the carb.

Yeah, that's what I've heard about those. Get a 14x5" K&N, looks better and flows better too. For the rest of the engine..... :hail: ...about covers it!

Yeah I only got that air cleaner because it was small, cheap and I wanted to put something on the carb to cover it up. I won't make a decision on the air cleaner until the engine is in the car and I make a decision on the hood based on clearance. It's funny yall mention the air cleaner. As soon as my friend saw the pic he said the same thing about sucking in the really thin filter element. He also had the filter on a SC car and the filter caught fire after a backfire through the SC. Yikes.

It's going in an '84Z that had a 305 H.O. in it that threw a rod. I'm rebuilding this thing from the ground up. I started with a bare block for this engine. The car has been stripped down to the unibody also. I've been so lazy about finishing the web site I won't give anyone its address yet. In a month I am moving to another house which has a 1500 sq.ft. workshop! I can't wait. It sure will beat my 2 car garage I'm using now. Unfortunately I have to stop working on the engine and put the suspension and brakes back on the car so I can tow it to my new house.

Thanks for the positive feeback guys! As far as HP and Torque go I think I should be well into the 400s. According to Desktop Dyno I should be in the high 400s. I'm not certain my cam is entered into DD correctly though. Also I can play with pulleys on the supercharger to up the boost. I have to pass emissions and I don't know how much the emissions equipment will affect horsepower. Either way it will be the most powerful car I have ever had by far. After I move I'll make myself finish the web site.

Lisen to what I mean, now what I say!!

I'll bet you can't wait to pull up next to a 4 dr. Civic hatchback with a 6" spoiler and a 5" fart pipe on it!!! He'll be Fast & Furious running home, crying to his mommy!!! "Some big mean car with a really big shinny thing stickin' outta the hood, blinded me with a lot of white smoke and kept letting out loud roars."

Good Old American Gas Guzzlin' Horse Power BABY!!!! That's what I'm talkin' 'bout!!! :hail:

Nice engine, man. It almost appears as though your carb sits higher then mine Optical illusion or reality? Looks pretty tall.

Mine does seem very tall. I've looked at your site before and you have an impressive car. I think with your big block and the fuel injection setup it's just an optical illusion that mine is higher. I've never had it in the car so I can't say how much it will stick out of the hood.

I've never looked at actual dimensions but I do know the big blocks tucks down on the crossmember much tighter than the small block. This drops the engine down. Where the top sits relative to a small block I don't know. If you have problems you might consider a tubular k-member from PA racing. They can drop the engine as far as 2-inches. I thought about that for myself but decided not too because of ground clearance.
