The links aren't working for me right now, but I'd say go with the Z28, it'll be faster and stop better. I prefer Camaro's though.

I'd go with the GTA cause it has more potential. If you want good power from the Z28 then you would need to switch the tranny to auto or it will break. Plus the GTA looks better. MUSTANGS CAN RUN BUT BIRDS CAN FLY.

Go with the camaro, I like TA's better, but between those to I would take that very nice camaro. The T-5 is junk, just make sure you buy a shifter with positive-stops, and you will extend its life by a bunch. This will keep you from bending the shift forks when you powershift it. Then you can install a tremec t-5 or even better t-56 when you can afford it.

I think the Camaro looks sweeter, but that's just an opinion. As far as the model, it's up to you.

If both car's were Camaro's, or both were GTA's........I'd still take the 1LE. It'll be worth more in the future, and it's a better handler, better braking, and a lighter car with the 5-spd means it's faster too.

The T-5 blows, but I'd rather have a car with a crappy 5-spd than any Automatic. Either way you're going to have to replace the tranny if you want some real performance out of the car's.....but I think $3500 for a 91 1LE is a steal.

The T5 transmissions suck!! If he gets the GTA then it has a 700R4 and doesnt need replaced when he starts doing mods. The Z28 will beat it now but with mods ,the T5 will fall apart and he will need a 6-speed to keep up with the power. Plus if you want to swap a 350 in there then the T5 will get ripped apart.

Granted the T5 isn't the best tranny, but neither is the 700R4. The 700 is a little stronger, but with around 350-400hp will need to be rebuilt as well. But if you don't plan on having that much HP, then the 700 is the way to go.

I like the camaro best. beside where you live you wont need air condition much.

Either way you cant go wrong. If you build either car you will end up doing trans work, on the t 5 or the 700.

Like I said you cant go wrong for $3500. Put another 5 to 7 grand in one and see what you have in performance. For under 10 grand and still cheeper than a new camaro or ta.

I WOULD PICK THE CAMARO BUT THAT 5 SPEED SUX, AFTER A FEW MODS YOU WILL HAVE TO REPLACE THAT PIECE OF GARBAGE. MY GTA BONE STOCK BEAT A 1LE WITH AN AUTOMATIC WITH NO PROB!

Go for the GTA! The GTA is a more beautiful car. As for performance, the Camaro isnt all that much better than that GTA.

The camaro has no power accessories, no a/c, no luxury or class to it. Granted, they lighten the car up, but at what expense? 1 or 2 tenths in the 1/4? The breaking system on the 1le is better though. Yet, it has a weak tranny.

The GTA is fully loaded, VERY comfortable interior, sleek yet agressive body lines. And with a few simple mods, the GTA will tear that 1le a new azz hole!

The 1le is a rare car, but also is a Hunter Green GTA. Thats up there with the Gunmetal Grey rarity. You definatley dont see many, if any 91-92 Hunter Green GTA's or even GTA's for that matter anymore. I personally have never seen a Hunter Green GTA in person. As for the 1le, it looks like any 91-92 Z28, which i see all the time.

Alot of what I said was fact, some oppinions. Im just offerin my views. Good luck with what ever you buy, but Im almost positie youll be happier with the GTA.

Rock on!

(let the flame wars begin)

Personally I'd go with the GTA. Firebirds have somethignt hat the Camaro's will never have. Thats even more exaggerated when you compare a 1LE Camaro to a GTA. A 1LE is a completely stripped down Z28, the advantages are the front brakes, and lighter weight. The GTA will have more conveinances and options than you would imagine.

BTW the GTA's headlight problem looks to be the door/cover is bent. Any 91-92 Firebird would have the same part and probably wouldn't be damaged... get one from a junkyard for $10 and paint it to match, take 20 minutes to bolt it on and you're all set.

Thanks for all the help. Yes i know the T-5 is crap but the fact of the matter is the GTA(I think looks sweeter) is in PA and I am in Madison, WI. On the other hand the 1LE is in Chicago. The GTA has a messed up headlamp and a dent in the pass front fender(quarter size) and that is it and the camaro has a exhaust manifold leak and a starter problem both of which are not big at all on either cars. The other thing is the GTA owner is 18 years old, the 1LE has only had one owner(48 year old woman!!!) The GTA owner will not come down in price at all and I would have to pay $700 to have it shipped to me. The 1LE I am getting for $3000 becasue of the starter and exhaust manifold, yes that is right a 1LE for $3000!!!!!!!!!!!!:lala: :hail: I think that clears everything up here!!!! The GTA owner won't help at all with the shipping charges either
