It was a hit and run, and due to my insurance I'd have to pay 500 dollars to get this fixed. Which probably would cost me more insurance than the damage itself.

Weren't you getting it repainted anyway? I hate ignorant people who just leave. My 92 RS got scraped by the passenger side rear wheel and they left, and a kid at my work had an 89 Formula that got messed up in the lot... they scraped the whole drivers side door, almost peeling the metal off! Thats why I park FAAAAR away everywhere I go.

That freakin sucks. I'd look for any white car with black paint on it.

get some rubbing compound and rub the h*ll out of it. It be totally clean but it should make it look at least a bit better. I had the same thing happen on my daily driver and the compound took out about 70% of it.

The same thing happened to me, except I had a hit and run on my rear panel, and the damage was $425 i was pissed because my decuctible only covers after 500, i was angry to say the least, just buff it out the best you can and if you got dings get it fixed when you get some extra money

Grab yourself a buffer and some meguires diamond cut compound, I'd say at least 70 - 75% of that will come off. I am a detailer, and i do it all the time to cars that have paint from other vehicles on them. Just get the diamont cut, and get a pad that is like frilly, or fluffy, not a foam pad. it has worked wonders on my Z, and was amazing on my black paint.

Yea, we've already went over it with some buffing compound. Minor but it did help. Had trouble pulling the white paint out of the cracks, but I'll mess with it tomorrow. It's not a huge deal, I'm getting the car repainted within a month. I'll just have them redo the back bumber. Sadly, it'll come out of my pocket. However, there is a hole in the rear bumper. That's the thing that makes it worse.

I do that parking as far as possible away from everyone else thing too, and I've still managed to get paint from TWO other cars in the..3 weeks I've owned my GTA..nothing major like that, just 2 nicks on the front and rear passenger fender, plus I live in Texas, so in all likeliness neither of the morons that hit me had insurance, even if they did leave me a note

I dunno, I don't like the mod all that much, makes the car look like its been hit by another vehicle with white paint, you should take it off.... Seriously man, that sux really bad, I think about that sometimes before I park, and for some reason, walking a long distance to get into the store no longer seems like its that long. I just had Sears F-Up my front drivers side fender and break the lower Driver Side Ground effects. Though I'm not paying for it, It still hurts to see it. Regardless, your car is a real beauty, and thats what makes it suck even more

that sucks it's that people will leave after doing that.
I suggest you see what a $250 or $0 deductable will cost. you'd be surprised. I know I was after someone ripped off my CD player and about 80 of my CD's I learned my lesson after that. I was suposed to get about $1000 from my insurance but i only got about $450. that sucked I'm at $0/$250 for my car and $0/$0 for the Bike.

well that looks like the paint off of the other vehicle....at the dealership I was at the detailers WERE AWESOME.....to get that **** off your car use paint thinner.....rub carefully and take your time...it works like magic....and on contact...it will lift that crap right off...trust me...I let my bro take a joy ride in my previous 91......he was coming out of a parking garage and curbed the hell out of my car (yellow curb)....I used paint thinner and all the color of the curb was gone.....and my shiny red was still there like new...pretty amazing stuff!! Ohh, i didnt have a clearcoat on my car and the paint stayed on...just be careful!!

Yea, thanks all. It does suck. I will admit though, I was parked in a bad place (I thought it was well seen thus not to be hit) but from someones point of view when backing up, it could have happened I guess.

The only problem with it buffing right out is the paint has lost some clear (flaked off) it cracked a large majority of the paint. And there is a hole in one side.

I'll clean it up tomorrow and re take some pictures. You won't notice from a distance, but upclose it'll be there.

None the less it sucks, but sometimes life screws ya. I'll have it repainted before long with the new cowl hood and we'll be back in business

I was at work, and three guys came running in saying who owns that black camaro. I get it alot, thinking they were going to ask me what was done, or if I wanted to sell it or something of that nature. They were like a conversion van just hit it. So at point I'm thinking they were joking, while at the same time I'm pissed. Get out there, thinking to see half my door gone. I was ready to call the police, I asked them if they had got a licence plate number or anything. Nothing, all they saw was it pulling out. I told them thanks, looked at the damage and realized paying the deductable would be more than it actually costs to fix it. So I avoided the police work.

I assume they were just backing up, hit it, and moved on never knowing they even hit it. I truly doubt they could feel that in a full sized van.

The whole car is getting repainted because the paint in the rear quater panel has about a 3 inch crack under the clear. I could take a picture, and you couldn't notice it. But in RL you can. Though you do have to get close. So I've been waiting for it to fully warm up here before I leave it at the body shop again. They have to repaint the whole rear half of the car. I'm also getting a cowl hood put on at the same time. And now a new rear bumper or getting this one fixed.

Heh, nah. I love the stock hood too. Not sure what I'm going to do, I planned on keeping it. If I had not bought the cowl hood when I was getting the car painted, I would have never bought it. I actually like the stock hood better, but I might as well use the cowl hood since I bought it.

Yeah i know what you mean. i was at work.. i park in the very back of the lot so no one does hit my car or door ding it... then one day i come out side and it looked like i had water on it it was all flaky on my front bumper... then got closer and and my bumpers paint was flappin in the wind.. with the drivers side fender all dented in. i was so pissed off.. and no one seen it happen. my car was painted less then a year ago... so then i had to have some body work done and repainted $600 bucks out of my pocket. it sucked and should have prob turned in to the insurence company but i was only 16 and im payin enough as it is... i've been there and it sucks!

Thats sux but you should be able to fix that you self for 50.00 bucks not 500.00. Get some rubbing compound then after you done with that buff it out. Well I dont know how bad it is from that pic but from what I can see that should be easy to fix.
