Think of selling my 92 z28

I have been thinking of selling my 92 z28. I have actually been looking at the new 02 SS camaros and really want one. I want like to have both but cannot afford the new SS without selling the 92 z28.

It is tough as I love my 92 but would like to have a new camaro (and last possibly). I even thought of getting a 96 LT4 Vette but I am a camaro fan for life.

I just want to know if anybody has come to a decision of selling their thirdgen and if so, what did they get, another 3rd gen, newer or older f-body or something completely different?

Here is a pic of mine:

I do not know if webshots lets us post pics anymore but if not, here is my link to some pics of my car:

Any help would be appreciated!!!

Thanks!!!

Manny

I'd sell mine in a heartbeat for a '02 SS. Ls1s are great engines and the new SS looks really mean. Nothing wrong with updating here and there, not like 92Zs are being destroyed. If later on down the road you want one, you can always find another.

That is what I was thinking. I know if will be tought to find another mint to near mint 92 z28, but, hey they are out there.

I will probably put the camaro on ebay tonight and see what I can get for it. I know the dealer will rip me off in a trade.

Any others sold their thridgen?

I hear you man. I'm thinking about selling my car for an '02 TransAm. I've wanted a T/A ever since the '98 models came out. Plus its just about that time again, I've had three camaros in three years. Hey if I remember right, we bought our camaros about the same time last year.

i disagree with you guys.....sure the power of the ls1 is awsome. but, it still feels like driving a sebring with some pep.

don't get me wrong, if i could buy one for a steal i would.

but to choose between my 91 or 02....i couldn't do it; not only do the 3rdgens get more attention, with little money they are faster and they don't have the generic gm apperance.

but, to each his own........

Not to get in an arguement with you here, but I can truely say my brothers 99 SS blows the doors off on my car on people looking and talking about. Now some may say my car is ugly, and that's the result in most liking his SS better, but I've never seen so many looks. I wish I could take pictures of them, every time I ride with him I see the "turtle necks" watching the car. People watching as it goes down the road until they can't see it anymore.

with little money they are faster and they don't have the generic gm apperance.
I'm not sure I'd say that. How many people on this board turn a 106+ trap speed? At what costs. I know you probably know alot about the LS1 so I have no reason to tell you, but some others on here might now. A heads/cam package with some better breathing on the exhaust/intake side, will pull 430 to the rear many times. I'd say that's pretty damn good. Only thing better about the Gen 1 style blocks are the fact that they're aftermarket is so big, plus with the LS1s you run into problems with the heads lifting (lakc of head bolts) and the alum. blocks not being real sturdy.

I love my thirdgen, and I love the new SS. If I had a choice, it'd be the SS, but I don't think I'd ever have to make the decision. Considering what thirdgens go for, I believe I could just earn that much and keep my car.
