Before and After park lights.
Heres a pic of the film free parking lights. I used some stuff called Blue Coral Blue Poly and it worked great. What a difference.
I guess any kind of wax would work fine, I just never really tried to make them look better. You dont even have to take them out if you dont want to, Anyways.

Looks good, I'm doing the same thing to my car but using a different technique. When I get some batteries that will last more than five minutes I will take some pics.

I did the outside of mine. I just take the part off the car and use my polishing wheels and grease followed up by some wax. Believe me you can see your reflection when I'm done.

Ah I got enough batteries from all my remotes, the pic is crappy and not at the right angle but it shows how much the tail light got brightened up. I didnt even get to turn off the flash.

I took some more pics. This first one really shows the shine and rejuvination of the lens.

Here is a pic of my driver light.

Yeah I figured I would take the whole thing out and buff on it, but just on a whim I put that Blue Coral stuff on it and it shined without any buffing, I couldnt believe it myself.
But to take the light out, look under the the front, where the light is, theres 2 little bolts that holds them in, take them out, its that easy.

Right on brotha!
Yeah the insides of mine were kind dirty also, some black mold spots, I'll clean the insides later. I'm happy for now.

A wax isn't going to fix a chemical breakdown caused by UV light. Preventive maintence yes, but restoritive no. Try a plastic polish, or if they're really bad start with a rubbing compound and follow up with a plastic polish.

I dont know whats up with cz28. I dont use wax just to brighten up the lens.I use flap wheels and special polishing compounds, da sander, and liquid polish to finish it off.

Yeah I havent got around to painting the lines yet. The paint on them was pretty crappy and peeling to begin with. Just for more fun here is a head on pic of the light.

Some interesting reading here!
But after having tried all kinds of products and getting good to fair results that only last a few days or up to a week I finally gave in and reached for the wallet.
Here's a pic of buffed/polished lens vs a new lens. New lens is installed in the car.

Got these off of ebay for $72 a pair including shipping. Not bad considering I've seen them go for $70 a piece from mail order catalogs.
Yeah, it was expensive, but I'm not buffing the parking lights every weekend anymore, plus the new lenses enhance the fresh paint job which was added a year ago.
I think it was my money well spent on a item I wanted to have to make the car look better.
