How do i know if my 1985 T/A is suposed to have the hood bird? It was repainted before I bought it. There are 2 decals missing that i know of. So if it had a hood bird i have no way of knowing. Should i joust put one on anyway. Do they make the car look much better?

 

Personally, I don't think they look that good on our cars. They belong on second gen trans ams. I'm pretty sure there's a blue TA on here though with a ram air hood and a silver chicken and it looks alright. I dunno how you tell if you're supposed to have it.

Look for the RPO DX1 on your RPO sheet.

I like the look of the hood bird on some cars, it depends on color combo etc...

 

YA!! what Dan said..DX1.If you get the right one it looks good,,don't buy a smaller one just to save a couple bucks,,they look crappy !!

well, I guess i shouldn't be too quick to judge....I only have seen one trans am with a hood bird on it in my town....it was all messed up. So I guess I should view a few more before I come to any conclusions.

I have also seen some custom airbrushed jobs.....yuck.

 

you are intiteled to your own opinion,,I have one too,,I agree that some look like §h!t ,,I just don't agree that thay "have a better place on 2nd gens."

 

It's running like trash right now and I can't find the problem.Just in a bad mood I actually like my car,just hate stupid incompentent repair shops.
