First, if you have any questions, for a prompt response, email me directly, at ronalusa@ronalusa.com

We will have these 17x9.5", R15 wheels, et 10 available Mid -late April. They are the ORIGINAL wheels, made from the same MOLD!
There are pictures of a set of RED color matched wheels, and some silver ones, on a Black Camaro posted! IF the owners could post these pictures in response to this posting --EVERYONE can see these wheels. Do NOT CONFUSE these wheels with any of the wheels shown on our website,
www.ronalusa.com ---WHEEL STYLES SECTION.
Unfortunately, I do not have a wheel in stock, yet to show you an official photo from us...

The Standard finish on these new wheels--is that the entire wheel will be painted silver, and clear coated. The face of the spokes and the wide lip will be machined face cut...meaning it has a higher gloss--creating a two tone effect of the wheel.

As an option, these wheels can be color matched, painted to any color, ie: red, black, white, etc. for an additional cost of $80. ea on any portion of the wheel, or the complete wheel.
We also offer chrome plating of these wheels as an option for $125/additional per wheel.
The center cap is as shown on the photos, a hex cap, and will have a RONAL script logo in the center. These lenses can be removed if you so choose.
We provide all the necessary lugs, and mounting hardware w.our wheels and they will be hubcentric fitments.

The cost of the standard wheel, at this time is $250/ea. We are accepting DEPOSITS of $100/set, non-refundable, to reserve and guarantee a set for the customer. This price will be in affect until April 1, when they will go up.We accept credit cards by phone, 800-899-1212.
Please call or email me if you have questions....

Can anyone do a photoshop on the wheels to change the red to a silver as he is suggesting? Im still trying to justify $80 extra per wheel. I'd post a pic, but Im not on my computer right now.

Thanks, Doug

I have seen the all silver-they look better painted.....if your Z is red, the red inserts look awesome!!

IMHO, it's worth the money. I'm having mine painted black.

Yeah, I'll probably just get red. Everyone seems to like that better anyway (myself included). Its just the money issue. Here's the pic if anyone still wants to photoshop it.

I still never got an answer whether the original ones on the 92 'hawks had a painted or clear face. Guess I'll be enjoying some ROH's instead.

The orignials had a machined face. The new ones will have a machined face. The silver and clearcoat will be in the 'windows' unles another color is requested.

Looks like the original faces are machined, then clearcoated with color matching in the windows.

I don't know about you but for most people money does'nt grow on tree's. Maybe some people would like to know EXACTELY what they are getting BEFORE they spend the 2 grand to get it.

My point is that at three people have been posting over and over about what they look like. Instead of picking up the phone and calling RONAL, they keep posting the same thing.

As much as I would like to believe Gary is actually checking on this thread, I know he isn't.

I sent him (or actually the email address ronal@ronal.com) asking that same question. The response I got was basically "by the end of the month" but I haven't heard a word since.

I was told when I ordered the wheels that I would be notified prior to the wheels being charged to my credit card. We'll see.

And my point is, Gary's communication sucks. He's danced around my question over and over. I asked if it was the same as the original wheel, and I got a 5 minute description of the new wheel. That didn't answer my question, and repeated attempts got me nowhere.

Add to that the seemingly different prices for diffrent people, and it just makes me wonder. It's great that somebody listened to us and got involved with bringing back a desired product, but I really would have liked to see them follow up in a more professional way.

I just don't get that warm fuzzy feeling that I like to have before i plunk down a grand of my hard-earned money. I decided to bail and explore other options instead.

When did you talk to him?

I got this email from him yesterday morning "They are being painted and machined next week...It appears now, that it will be 2 weeks from now.."

We've all agreed that Gary's communication and customer service skills aren't all that, but I'm concerned that we are getting different stories.

The info isn't that far apart. I do realize that this is a small run of production. Other things take precedent over this. Like OEM runs and popular wheel styles.

Wonder why.

<EDIT> Wonder why no-one listens to you...

Second verse, same as the first, a little bit louder and a whole lot worse....

We all agree Gary isn't the communicator we would all wish he would be, and people are like that. My issue is that every single post you (SnowDog 91) have posted in reference to this subject has contained the same information. The price isn't right, the deposit isn't right, the communication isn't right and last but not least that you aren't buying a set because you don't have the money.
We got it. Thanks.

To post a "neener-neener" post, and then to point out that you think Gary is full of BS, O K. We Got it. Enough said. Move On. Buy your ROH Snypers, 'Vette rims, or get a set of 4th gen rims, I don't care, but MOVE ON.

Thanks

If they were available it would be another story. Nothing has convinced me that the rims being reproduced are the Ronal Firehawk rims. NOTHING.
You guys keep posting the pictures of the real thing, and nobody has seen SQUAT from Gary.

This is what Gary E-mailed me on 6/3:

Hello. Thanks for your patience. I am expecting the first batch to be
completed at the end of this week, and I should have them within 10 days...
I'll post an update, as soon as I have some firm news..

Snowdog,

We gave RONAL our deposits, not Gary.

Why do you keep bitching about this when you say you can't afford the wheels anyways? Do suspenst a hint of jealousy??

Snowdog 91 Formula - we could argue about this all day but we are all really just speculating since there is no hard evidence.

We paid the money. You didn't.
We believe gary. You don't.

True - he hasn't even shown us a pictue of the wheels that should of been here in April - so for all we know he's off with his new tuxedo and suitcase of $50 bills to a beach somewhere Mexico grinning from ear to ear.

I happen to trust him when he says these are made the same way as they were 10 years ago - and even if they aren't, they are still a great wheel.

Maybe you should hold the 'I told you sos' until we all know for sure.

Just my $0.02,
Doug

Just saying...
I am just saying NEVER put your money down on something that isn't tangible!
If that isn't enough, I don't know what is!
That is what this whole thing is all about. When the wheels are available, and the price isn't dicked around 100x and you get a straight answer like you can BUY them now and BUY them for this price.....
That is what I am getting at.
I sure as hell hope they are the right rims for your sakes, or you just end up giving Ronal money for nothing.
I'm on your side. Nothing against you or anyone for that matter. I just don't believe in the way they do business.

Well,

If the rims don't show up within the next 45 days, then I will request my deposit back for taking too damn long.

-OR-

If the wheels show up and they are not the right ones I though they were, they will be returned and I will get my money back.

It's not that big of a deal. RONAL is an established company that has been around a long time.

Besides, since you waited for so long and have not placed an order, the price has gone up and the chance you may get a set may be slim. They only produced enough to fill the orders and a few extra sets for good measure.

It's one thing to be left in the dark by an Employee at a business such as this. But this is the Owner of the Company which is showing ****-poor customer service. I didn't order anything from him and glad that I didn't and esp. now I never intend too. Personally I'd forget e-mails or letters. I would want to talk to him on the phone and I would demand my wheels by "X" date or my deposit back. Then if there was no effort on his part to make a mends on this issue I would contact FBI's Internet Fraud Dept.

"If you take a man by his word, then he means nothing!"

I saw an advertisment in GMHTP for SLP Firehawk wheels 82-92. $1099.00 while supplies last. Could these be originals they just found in the SLP factory?

If I don't get my wheels in a week from Ronal, I'm going for these.

Fozbozz,
SLP is buying the wheels from Ronal and puting their own cap on them. It has SLP on it. They are to be silver wheels, diamond cut surface for a satin finish with silver gray paint inside the spokes.

SLP is waiting like the rest of us for Ronal to produce them, so they are not selling them yet. I think the SLP ad's were done in aticipation of the wheels being done by now.

Got them today. I think I may be the first. They look very tough... will see how they fit tomorrow.

As to the naysayers, I don't think I was lied to once by Gary although I had spoke to another salesman at one point that didn't have all the facts. The wheels were delayed in manufacturing and Gary told me that when I checked in. I don't consider this his fault... I'm sure he wanted these wheels to be done much sooner so that he didn't have to put up with all my phone calls. I'd rate Ronal an A+ for their polite and patient customer service and great looking wheels.

Thanks Gary
