Thinking a glowing red would not look that bad.

the right way to do it is not to be able to see the bulb, just the light from it. Since you have a formula and no ground effects you could hide the side bulbs behind some subframe connectors.

You should have no problem hiding any of the tubes besides the back one. If you have trouble doing so, ask KZad or put up a post

I think it'll look good. The set that's on my TA used to be on my '86, which is red (well, dark red)

This isn't on a red car, but that'll give you an idea of the glow. Fellow neon-owners should be able to attest that the pics never do the kits justice:

I agree, they look horrible when you can see the tubes.

I voted "yea". I agree with those who say it won't look good if you can see the bulbs. If done right, it'll look very nice. Someday I wanna put blue ones under my car.

blue ones would look awesome

it would contrast REALLY well with the blue stripe around the car

Ive had a set on my 91 for about 3 years now, when you install the side ones you gotta be careful, because like everyone says when you see the bulbs it looks like ****. When I first installed mine i put them on checked out the bulbs from about 10-15 feet away, didnt see bulbs, but when i drove by my freinds house they saw the bulbs cause I didnt stand back far enough. too bad my transformer burned out I miss my neons!

Rice, Schmice ... Its all opinion.

I say go for it ... I would, but rather spend the loot in other areas. I always wondered what my car would look like with em anyway.

What color you thinking about ... when I really wanted them, i was torn:

Red = Too much (red on red)
Yellow= Ketchup & Mustard
Green=Christmas anyone?
Blue=Red & Blue make purple
Purple=uhhhh, no thank you

Just my thoughts.

KZAD - Thanks for the props Jimmytime.

i tend to stay away from those all-show, no go products. I'd rather just have my car go faster by spending my money on a speed part. But thats just me

What do you think of neons under the hood. I would get one that was just white so that I can see the engine.

Under-glow was cool about 10 years ago, but was a fad and it's time has passed.

I think they look dorky. Might as well add those lighted windshield nozzles or some side marker lights... :nono:

Some of them dont look that bad. Like that vette up there. If you had that car what else would you buy for it. Its complete I would not touch a thing on it. I guess the reason for those neon light are so that you can see under the car and check out the exhaust setup. See the mirrors

Neon is cool like everyone else said, no visual tubes! I knew a 65 plus year old guy who put them under his very nice 68 Camaro Convt daily driver. Looked great!
I think blue is the best.

"Neon has been around longer than the "rice" fad"

Thats what I was gonna say, I'm sure street rodders were doing it 20 years before the sport compact trend even started. I dunno if I'd spend the $$ on it, especially as tight as my budget is, but honestly if done right I don't have a problem with them. Illegal to drive with them on in my area though. So only a very few people have them around here.

>those are the stock formula wheels. I like to call them the Adidas rims since the design kinda looks the the Adidas logo.

>whats wrong with red? If it comes out looking pink I would understand but Red&Red seem to match to me

yeah it is more of a pink then it will be a red. plus what kind of neons are you going to get. are you going cheap or all out on some street glows. my friend works at instal it all. the name sums up what they do. they do everything and sell everything. street glows are way better shine brighter last longer and are a better quailty then lets say the lite glow. yeah you would think red and red would look good. but then it just looks like a big redish pink blah.. now take a color like blue and you can see the blue light the car up. do what you want but i know i wouldnt get red on a red car!
