As many of you know, I have had an infamous experience with Earl Scheib in painting my car Viper Blue w/white racing stripes. And as still others of you know, my car got keyed (when does the fun end???) about a week and a half ago - This time, a REAL paint shop is going to paint it. So, my question to you all is what color(s) should I paint it? Here are the top four things I have been thinking...please tell me what you like best:

Hate to hear about what happend (gettin keyed). But I have always liked the Hugger Orange w/white racing stripes. Although Ive never seen it on a thirdgen. Only on 1st and 2nd. I am also thinking of that paint job for my car.

Just my 2cents.

 

I think the electron blue would look really good, just without the stripes.

In fact, I was thinking about it just yesterday, maybe trying to find a late vert and paint it electron blue.

But then again, I need to finish my current car up first.

 

I vote........Hugger orange.

 

Electron Blue, that color is great

 

Either Electron Blue with no stripes, or Huggar Orange with black stripes. But not the stripes that go over the entire length of the car.

 

I think you should go with the mystic. that would look tight! I am gonna do somethin to my car with that type of paint, except its called duplicolor (or somethin like that) and does bout 9 or so different colors. Tight, but expensive (like $36 an ounce ). That would be a one of a kind car, thas fo sho.

 

i would stay away from the Mystic (the color changing paint from blue to green to purple) that paint job only looks good on cars with lots of curves i dont think a 3rd gen would look good at all with one of them. we have a few 4th gens with that paint on it and they have more curves then we do and it still looks kinda tacky.

but i say either Hugger Orange with white racing stripes

or Blue w/white racing stripes - thinking Electron blue that came on the '02 Corvettes

 

I think the hugger orange is sweet but mine is painted absolute purpleen which is the lighter version of mystic. And the car's got plenty of curves to show it off.

but seriously , go orange or blue, i think the mystic looks pretty weird most if the time

 

Last year, I was at the Speed shop in the city and a young guy came in with his Rice Rocket and a bunch of the young snot werestanding around drooling over his car and was bragging that he spent $6000 bucks on his paint, he said that the paint will change colors with the tempature he called it photogray,phototemp paint .
Any way I hung around for about an hour for the sun to go down, it changed from bright reddy-purple to a dark bluey-green.
I was impressed even tho it was on a *****.

 

You mean to tell me that NO ONE voted vellow w/black stripes like the Mean Yellow Z? Oh well. I went for electron blue ('02 vettes) with white racing stripes. I just thought it would look way weird if it got scratched again and showed blue underneath or if you pop open the hood and it shows blue instead of like orange or yellow as the car is. I didn't go with hugger orange because I have not seen a single thirdgen yet that really impressed me w/it. If you guys have any pictures to show, lets see them! It's not too late yet for me to change.

 

Well since u have a zz4 and its fast , and probly a loud exhaust , i would go with hugger orange, just b/c that would give it the muscle look that it needs....IMHO:lala: :lala:

yeah, I looked at about 3 or 4 pictures of thirdgens w/hugger orange and they really didn't appeal to me. Number one I think because they needed the stripes at LEAST. But I don't know...I think the electron blue will fit me nicely ... unless I can see some cool pics of hugger orange thirdgens
