Well guys... dunno if you will like this..
Well guys... dunno if you will like this..
...tomarrow Im washing, waxing, and cleaning out the interior, then, Im going to take it for a drive up one of the rivers, or near the ocean and take what will probably be the last pictures of it for eBay.
After about two months of being undecided on where I want to go next, I finally decided about two weeks ago to sell it and buy something newer, yes, thats right, Ill be going 4th gen. The only two in the area that have struck my fancy are a 2000 SS, and a little ways away is a 99' 30th Anniversary Trans Am Convertible for sale.... We'll see how that goes.
Also, Im not bailing on the 3rdgen totally either, I love my car, but, its time to move on.... I think I'll probably have to send along the 1/16th scale model replica I made with the car when it sells because Ill get depressed looking at it.
This also will be the last pic post, so, grab your kleenex, or something and we'll start this little trip down memory lane.
My 82 Z28 with the Trans Am the day after I drove it home.
But I still left the bra on....
Ye' Ol' Digital Dash
Finally took the bra and front plate off, and to celebrate, I laid in flowers!
Then I headed for the twisties....
Laying down on the side of the road is fun!
I Raced a Ghetto 5.0....
Then I took a pic of my motor.... or something...
So, there we go... I guess Ill get to take pics of a new car soon too...

I hate to see it go Roshambo, that is one beautiful car and you take great pictures. I hope you have fun with the 4th gen of your choosing, I myself am looking at a 95 Z28 M6 to fix up. Roger

As a long time third gen owner (I owned my first when I was 17 and I am 31 now) (85T/A; 87 GTA; 89 Formula) I can say you will love your fourth gen. (I now have a 96 formula and am looking into buying a 02 T/A) The fourth gens rock. This site is still the best f-body site going that's why I still hang out here even though I haven't owned a third gen in over three years.

>BTW can you post that pic you have of the Trans Am doing the burn out and you can see the American Eagle in the smoke?
>for your car :hail: :hail: :hail: :hail:

Well it sucks, but at least you're getting another great car. If you were getting a Honda I'd have to drive out there and smack you.

Well i'll have to throw in my 4th gen bashing, if your gonna mod it, dont bother with it, hell even changing the plugs/wires is hell in them, most saw the 94 6 speed Z I had for a few months till it and I were brutally beaten by a 2000 explorer, i'd have to say the week in the hospital was almost worth it not to have that damn buried engine car, oh well to each his own, those who havent seen what im talking about the pics are here: www.z28racer.cz28.com/photo4.html

Your air bags deployed with a rear/side impact. I thought they only worked with a front end collision???? That being said I still love my fourth gen. Though some day I will get another third gen formula 350 to restore and treasure.
You are the only car I have seen sucessfully pull off baby blue paint! Well if you discount the 'digital' gauges and the bra... It is one of the best Trans Ams I see! Good work!!!
Can you come up here to do some pics of the SC sometime soon? lol

And Mark, I will never own a Honda... ever.. Id have to smack myself!

I'd give my car up in a heartbeat for an LS1. Of course, If I had the cash to get a 99SS, or something of that nature I'd attempt to go for something a 97 corvette. I'm just a big fan of the LS1 mainly though.
BTW, rashmbo, not sure how much reading you've read on it, but that 99SS while move. My brother put exhaust (not headers) and and lid, pulled a 12.90 at 111 at the track.
Be sure to take pictures, as I know you will...

Damn man, I'll be sad to see it go. Thats a beautiful car you got there, but I'm sure you'll pick out another beauty. Just make sure you really wanna sell it, cause you sure will miss it.
And Z28racer:
Holy ****! Looking at those pics, I'm amazed you survived. That looks like one baaaaad wreck. Glad to know you're okay though.

Good luck with the 4th gen. I cant really try and talk you out of it, cause if I found a 97 Ram Air WS6 T/A Red, Grey Leather Interior, 6 Spd, with not a ton of miles, that wanted to trade for my car or if I could find someone to buiy it for the selling price of the other, I might be a 4th gen owner too.
WTF I go away for a day and this happens. What am I to do with out a twin on this board. It was only me and you and now it will be only me. This makes me sad.
I snooped around here for a long time before I decided on a Third gen for my project car. I set out looking for a nice Formula or a TA. I looked a a hundred or so in three states. When I finally saw a Med Maui Blue TA in person I was hooked. The car that I bought was no where close to the condition I was looking for. While I was looking at it I could only think about those awesome pictures from a guy named "roshambo". I did get the car and it is well on the way to being just the way I like it. But the fact is that I would not have even driven four hours to look at if I had not seen all those great pictures you have taken of yours.
I can assure you that your presence will be missed by me and others here.
Please if I am not too late and you are very sure of what you are doing, allow me to talk to you about buying the TA from you.
Thanks
Rob

Damn, well I didnt think there would be two offers in the first day... heh
If you guys could both email me I guess we could take it from there... Basically, email me your offer, I cant/wont do payments though.
Even though it might save me time, and a little bit of money I do feel more confident selling it on eBay. I sold my Z28 on there and it was a really good experience.
Anyways, my email is joeblount@hotmail.com, you can also reach me on MSN Instant Messanger as that...

All I have to say is that I thought I wanted to do the same thing, but I held out for a little a while and I decided to stay 3rd gen.
Sure you can buy a fourth gen, which is boxed power, but take away the abundance of parts, the ease of working on them, the tuning that can be done...........I could go on and on..........
hey man, to each his own......just stay in the fbod family

Honestly, I think u shouldn't do it. I would look for an L98 if more power is what u are looking for, Third Gens have alot of advantages and are just more fun, especially too look at.

I hate to here that you are selling you car, but to each his own.
You can still have fun modifying you new car. I ran across a wreck 2001 SS. It had T-tops and a 6-speed. It was wrecked and for sale. It had 12000 miles on it and was $8500. It needed a front clip.
Post pics of the new car!! Good luck shopping.

Yea I loved and hated different aspects of that car, the main hate was that the engine was buried and it just didnt look as good as a 3rd gen, as I said the ruptured spleen, bruised and cut kidneys and lip split all the way thru 1/2" was almost worth it to be rid of it, dont ask me how the airbag went off i was knocked out by it or the side of the door/window by my head hitting it when he hit me so when I woke up I didnt even know the rear of the car had hit a phone pole till several hours later when my dad/uncle already looked at the car,
Roshambo I think you just need to pull an LT1 or even LS1 swap mmmmmkay, 4th gens are not the way to go, you've built a sweet car and it just might not get well taken care of if you sell it....

Yeah, thats the only thing that would hold me back on new cars. All that computerized controll and plastic under the hood. Lets say you blow a head gasket on a third gen, piece of cake. Blow it on a third gen and you have to take half the engine apart (well it look that way) maybe as soon as I catch up on learning all the electronic they have added. Right now thats the second thing that makes me proud of my car, aside from the apperance.

I agree with RB's statement, but I also have to say, "A person usually always wants to go back to the things that makes him/her the happiest." I had a 90 model camaro. I owned it for 8 years. Reluctantly, I had to sell so that my wife could get her a family car. (baby was on the way) In the sell, I just so happened to aquire an Eagle Talon
Needless to say, it didn't take me long to go back to my roots and find me another Camaro too feed my need. Sometimes the best things in life are the things that makes you the happiest. Mine just happens to be a third gen Camaro. I'll never own anything else, no matter how tired I think I may be of driving it.
