question about rims
what is the difference in bolt placement on the different year IROCs? I've got a 88Z and I am looking at getting some stock wheels from e-bay. do the 85-87 fit the later years, and is there a different style between the early years and the later years? it seems like there is but what are the differences?
thanks

I don't know, I just see two different types of IROC rims out there
85-87 and 88+
I just want to know the details on the different Rims and different years. I just don't want to drop $300+ on some rims to find out that they don't fit.

The diffrence in looks is, the older ones have one stripe on the spoke and the newer ones have 2 stripes. If you have an 88 the 85-87 style should fit.

Only difference between normal Z28/RS wheels and IROC wheels is that the IROC's are larger and wider (16.9 ??) and that the later IROC wheels are off-set, so they can't be rotated to other parts of the car. As for bolt pattern.... no changes were made to the 5-Bolt pattern on thirdgen F-Body's, they will all bolt up properly.

Yeah, I forgot to mention that... the later Z28 rims are offset to... but they are essentially the IROC rims with Z28 designation hubs. Just cause they lost there IROC liscense doesn't mean they can't still make badass rims To bad they kinda killed um when they made the 4th Gen wheels.
Oh, and did you notice? The 15x7 5-Stars had a wide painted area, and on the early IROC wheels it looks like someone grabbed and pulled the Original 5-Star rim outwards, thining it out. Bah, just somthing I found interesting.
