I'm not real sure though if you were suposed to wax it that soon after.
What does it look like? Right after you got done painting it did it shine? What were the conditions you painted in. I know humidity and temp will effect the finish of the paint while it is drying.

You can't. Spray paint only gets so good. When you make a $10 repair, you get $10 results.

Not all the time. My 92 RS got scraped by someone in a parking lot, and since I was selling it anyway, I decided to touch it up the best I could. I sanded the paint off and got it all straight and smooth, then put 2 coats of some spray primer, wetsanding after each coat. Then I put touch up paint on it (with a brush even) and wetsanded after those coats. Then I brushed on some clear coat, wetsanded, then used 3M Fine Cut Rubbing Compound and then 3M Swirl Mark Remover and it was almost as good as new. I say almost cause the touch up paint color didn't match exactly, it looked more metallic, but oh well, it was better than the scrape and you could only tell in certain light at certain angles.
It wasn't a $10 job, more like $35 or so, but the results were fine.
Heres two pics before:
And two after:
In the two after shots, you can see the rust along the fender, which I also fixed with the same process. I don't have any pics of those, however.

I have never had good results with plasticoat spray paint, but I do like their touch up paint in a bottle.
I have noticed in the last 2 monthes spray paint has been acting odd. I know this sounds strange, but I have done quite a bit of painting on the exterior and interior of my car over the years. Its always been little trim pieces and such. In the past, it was easy. Rough up the surface, clean the part with prep, wash w/ soap and water, use and adhesion promoter if on plastics, or primer on metal, and then shoot color and clear. Simple. It stuck, looked shiney, and held up.
This past 6 monthes I have had tons of problems. I have not ever this many problems with adhesion and finishes coming out bad. Stuff won't go on even. It does not stick well and spiders up or won't stick to places at all. Really weird. I don't know it the paints have changed or what. I do know I had a 2 year old can and it had no problems, but the new stuff would not stick for crap.
Just thought I would share.
