Walmart buffer?

I was at Walmart the other day and saw they had a 10" 2600 RPM buffer for like $20. Is that thing any good? My car has swirl marks that I really want out, would this do the trick. Also, how hard is it to buff a car? I don't want to burn through my clearcoat. Any suggestions are welcome, thanks in advance.

buffing

with the walmart buffer I wouldn't worry about burning the paint. I'm sure the compound is low-cut and the buffing pad is probably foam. You have to worry about burning the paint when you use a heavier cut compound and a wool pad. These are often used when the paint is heavily oxidized. For 20 bucks you can't go wrong, even if it doesn't work you could used it to put on or take off wax.
