Pics of the 91-92 Hi-Rise Spoiler on my T/A

Here are a couple of pics I just took. I'll try and take some more tomorrow outside so I can get more angles and better lighting.

I was thinking the same thing. A couple of friends of mine do bodywork so I might just do that.

I agree with tas about the wing. Looks okay though. Do you plan on leaving that 3rd brake light on there?

Um, I was thinking about being different.
you don't see to many Trans Am's with the 91-92 Camaro styling on them. 91-92 Firebird GFX looks gay, no offense to any 91-92 firebird owners.

You'd think I was from West Virginia from looking at my car, looks like an in-bred performance car.
No offense to members in or from West VA.

What's the problem with mixing parts? If the TA CAME with a High-Rise spoiler from the factory, or if the camaro CAME with a TA wrap around spoiler from the factory, would you be saying the same thing if people with TA's wanted wrap arounds and people with Camaro's wanted high rise spoilers?

Just because someone buy's a Firebird over a Camaro or Vise Versa, doesn't mean that they have to like EVERY PART of that Camaro or Firebird better than it's F-body counterpart. If someone likes a firebird better than a camaro as a whole, but happens to really like that camaro spoiler better than what came factory on there car, aren't they allowed to change that one part if it makes their car more attractive to them?

Just because a small group of engineers at Chevrolet or Pontiac 15 years ago made the car look a specific way doesn't mean that every person out of a group of a couple hundred thousand people all have to leave it looking that way....

Zepher-

The car is much more exotic looking and will catch more attention with the spoiler off the car. Yours really pulls it off wihtout one at all. Putting the hi-rise spoiler on there will detract from that image, almost to the point where it doesnt look like you cared what spoiler you had as long as you had one.

Even still, an excellent car. Make sure you do what makes you feel good.

I had one ready to be put on the car, but everyone started to put one on so I decided to do something different.

I might remove the spoiler or make it wider etc....
I want to see what it looks like when it's painted first.

Main thing right now is getting the LT1 and instaling it.
I am trying to get my friends 95 Camaro Z28 LT1 and A4 Tranny for about $1200 or so instead of just the LT1 from the caprice since I know my tranny will die if I get on it too hard.

My brother might even swap his T56 from his 96 T/A for the A4 with me if I can get the motor and tranny from my friend.
Will find out later this morning.

I thought you were going no spoiler zephyr? Your car is having a major ideinity chrisis but I like it. Ive always liked the camaros more than the birds and I think I know why, its becasue of the ground effects, they make your bird look sooooooooooo much better. When and what are you going to paint the ride

First of all, I think I'm doing the same thing zepher, and I think it looks nice. But I gotta say, there are way too many people who rip on the 91-92 Firebirds around here! They are the best looking thidgens on the road, and by far the most unique! I say hooray for the 91-92's and the Camaro wing looks great! Just my .02

I already sold the 4th gen wing to a buddy of mine.

After I get my LT1 and tranny in the car and pay those 2 parts off then I am going to get the WS6 Ram Air hood 97 and earlier style and paint the car silver with black accents. Should look pretty sweet.

bah don't put on a 4thgen hood like everyone else is doing. Get a Formula/early TA hood, or get a shaker scoupe from a wrecked 2nd gen, gut a hole in your hood and put that.

i don't know guys, i don't think it looks "bad", but it doesn't flow as much as the trans am parts.

the camaro is a much broader shape with very subtle styling lines, the firebird and ta's flow with alot of curves; i think it takes away from the style. although it's just my opinion and i love to see anything different.

good luck with the projects.

Looks good. I do agree with you that it needs to be wider. It's nice to see somebody doing things different rather than everybody doing the same thing. That's why I will probably leave mine "stock" appearing.

I've always been a huge fan of the flat spoiler, myself (you ought to know which one I mean here) but I think the hi-rise spoiler looks very nice on the car...

I think the spoiler looks great on that car. Myself has never seen that before. It almost looks better with the multi colors, no really, I think all silver, with that spoiler, would look sweet. The wheels are Bad *** as well. All in all, the car has a nice stance to it.

Good luck with the rest of the project Zepher.

Also, a LT1 in that would make it, what, 10 different cars, lol.
Just kidding.

thanks guys.
That is a great job 89transam, that is almost the color I am after.
Sortof like Fly89's.

I am thinking about going with black ground effects and 2 black racing stripes up the middle starting on the Ram Air Hood.
Solid color looks great though.

Just wait till I get my hands on a 98+ Trans Am nose, then it will be almost done.

It is crooked but you get the idea.
