Question- does anyone have info regarding the Chevy pickup headlight swap?????
I have heard people talk about, but never seen a picture of, a modification whereby one removes the two pairs of headlights from a thirdgen Camaro, and replaces it with one-piece headlights from a Chevy pickup truck. The end result is that instead of having two rectangular headlights on each side, you have one large rectangular headlight.
A) Does anyone have a picture of this?
B) What model/year pickup do you get the headlights out of?
C) What's to it? Does it basically bolt right in?
D) Am I the only one that thinks this has the potential to look really good?

yea I remember seeing that car it was in the Readers Rides" section. Don't remember whos tho. It really didn't look that good I thought, I liked the little round headlights better if I was going to do something like that.

I like this idea....
So are both our cars and chevy trucks, both use 9004 headlight bulbs for the low beams and high beams??
If this is so, I might give it a try....

My friend had a 78 Malibu with a Choo-Choo-Customs Monte SS style nose on it. It had the Celebrity Eurosport headlights in it and looked pretty cool. Apparently, they are the same width as two rectangular headlights (like the Camaros). I'm sure if you get the bracketry along with the lights at the junkyard, it wouldn't be too hard to retrofit.

maybe it's the pic, or maybe it's me, but the head's on view of that black camaro with'em, the lights make it look lower and wider...but i don't like the flamed one at all, the lights kinda look frosted.

By the way, the caprice and celebrity headlights are almost the same. I used 88-90 caprice headlights in a camaro install, but i also upgraded the wiring harness.

Isn't there a guy, maybe revlimit!?!?, with them on his car. The new truck "projector" lights like pictured on the photoshopped black car. Its in his sig as his car is drifting or something.

headlight conversion
OK. Let me understand this. The '87 Monte Carlo Euro Ed. uses the projector style lights. Right? What type of lights do the celebrity eurosport use? And, what year Celebrity are we referring to? Most importantly, what is involved in converting the bracketry? Thanks in advance.

I would think the monte carlo LS lights.. The truck lights have too much of an angle it looks like, not sure about the celebirty ones. I think there's one at the shop I can look at.

Oh well, I just won the auction for the celebrity headlights on ebay. Hopefully they will come in next week. I'll try to take a bunch of pics when I do the install(if the headlights look okay).
There's one more set on ebay for 20 a piece.

Woohooo got my Monte Carlo LS lights today I just had to get a rough idea of what it would look like so I snapped a pic with the light just resting in the headlight bucket lol (yes I know it's upside down) I'm going to have to get the bulb holders now though, the guy didn't include them should have asked but oh well.

You can also use the lights from a 87/88 Cutlass. Same as the 87/88 Montes

Here's a pic of how easy it is to put the celebrity lights in the camaro. Bracket is make of 5/16" flat bar. Took me about an hour and a half to do both sides. Had to cut out the stock headlight buckets, but other than that, it was a piece of cake.
Actually, the bracket in the picture is backwards, but you get the idea.

Yeah, ie crappy looking. Single bit of flat steel bent with a couple of bolts to hold in place. I'd rather do a nice install.

EVILCARTMAN,
What other parts are you waiting for before you do your install?
I bought an extra headlamp mounting panel for my install so that I wouldn't destroy my factory original panel just for this mod. I found it on EBAY for just under $40. This made my install a bit easier than trying to do it on the car (although this method did require a lot of test fitting since the fascia was off the car during the majority of the install).
Here is the EBAY link I typically use to search for 1991-1992 Camaro stuff on EBAY. This link typically results in at-least one of these headlamp mounting panels:
http://search-desc.ebay.com/search/s...&BasicSearch=&
Also, the company that sells these panels has an "EBAY Store" which can be found at the following link:
http://www.stores.ebay.com/id=8860904
This 'store' is also good for locating older [GM] composite headlamps.
