A/C housing removal

Hey..

The A/C was yanked out of my car when I bought it which is no problem as I have t-top that are out every chance I get. Anyway.. the big ugly housing is still sitting there in the engine bay, and I want to take it out. Problem is I've heard that there is nothing behind it but a big hole.. Has anyone done this and cover the hole somehow?

thanks...

ps/ not sure if this is the right place for this... sorry moderators...

If you remove the box, you'll have a big hole there. You can either build a custom air box, or try to find a non-AC box. Thats if you want to still be able to use the blower(defrost, vent, heater). If you dont care about that, just cut a piece of metal and bolt the bad boy down.

I'm doing the same thing right now! I'm going to see if I can get a non AC housing from a boneyard, but if not... I'll build a custom one out of sheetmetal. How much smaller is the non AC housing? Does anyone have a pic? The whole reason I'm taking out my housing is because it's HUGE.
