The best route would be to buy the special tool made for removing them. That way you don't mangle the new one putting it in with vice grips or something. Eastwood sells them.

It jsut unscrews, If I remember correctly they actually use the same screw for the antenna as they do for the piece that holds the antenna on to the fender.

To actually remove the actual parts inside the fender you will have to remove partly if not most of the plastic inner fender piece. But apparently you do not want to go that far.

IF your planning on replacing everything in side the fender anyway for whatever reason I would seriously look into getting the pieces from a power antenna. Thats what I did...

If you don't want to mangle the screw piece that holds the antenna (sp?) to the fender, wrap a pair of pliers (or whatever gripping tool used) with masking tape, duct, etc or some sort of cloth like a rag. There is no need to buy some special tool for a one time use. Even if you would chip part of the antenna paint, just use some semi-gloss black paint to touch it up.. it's just an antenna after all.

lol.. I wish I did. I even commented on that on another post.. I'll try and lay off the plugs for a while. Maybe they should give me a discount for plugging them so much lately.

I am just messing with you. Eastwood is a very good company with good quality stuff and always seems to have what I need.
