Forget my other post--I have pictures!!--what is this bracket

I tried to delete my other post but it won't let me.

What is this bracket? I think it came from somewhere under the driver's side dash of my 91.

had my 87 all apart, but cant place it exactly,

might be a gas pedal bracket,
there is a bracket that holds up some extra thingies like your turn signal fuses etc, but that does not strike me like thats what it is.

Got an 87 dash apart, I will look at it to see if there is anything similar.

hmm

thats a stumper.

I know it goes just above the gas pedal, do not know what else it attaches to, but here is where it goes.

Thanks, man!! :hail: okfoz

I have the gas pedal attached by those two studs right now, and I can't tell what the bracket would do, but I'll take a look and see if I can find what it attaches to. If it does't do anything, I'm going to leave it off. Weight reduction stage 1!

EDIT: Hey, I bought my car in Flint, MI! My dad and I flew up to get it. I didn't get to see a lot of the town, though: we drove from the airport to the guy's house (in a Ford Focus rental car--YEAH! ), checked out the car, drove the car a little bit, bought it, dropped off the rental at the airport, and drove back to Texas. On the way back to the airport, some guys asked me for directions to the mall . I'm sure I had a big stupid grin on my face the whole trip back.

What I did see of Flint looked pretty nice. The guy I bought the car from had a big white wood house (everything's brick down here), a barn and some land. There was line for the rental at the airport and there weren't a billion forms to fill out like DFW.

If I remember right, I think the bracket did very little, if anything, I do not even remember it attaching to anything else. The ONLY thing i can think of it is to keep wires or something from falling on your feet, or around the pedals for safety or something. I am pretty sure it has a function, otherwise GM would not have gone thru the trouble of puting one of these on every camaro & firebird from 82-92...

But like you say, Since it does not appear to do anything why not leave it off... There does not appear to have a function.

As for Flint, its an ok town, wouldnt recommend moving here unless you want to be out of work, or start your own business. Since GM pretty much walked out, were now in $30,000,000 dollars of debt, consider that I do not think we have 150,000 people.

cort,

you must have been through the 'good' part of flint, i go to school here near downtown (kettering u.) and it's pretty trashy in these parts, where all the GM plants used to be is now either empty lots or giant piles of rubble from when they knocked the buildings down. after the plants closed the city lost all the tax revenue and is now screwed, i think they've fired like 300 policemen in the past couple years.

okfoz,

do you ever go to the cruise by 475? i've been home every weekend to work on my car and then brought it up for this past weekend and took it to the cruise but it was swarming with cops so there were no races. i guess this was the strictest they've ever been about it.

Ukrane,
nope, never been to the cruise on 475, I try to stay out of trouble, it has a habbit of finding me anyway, so I don't look for it.

You say that you go to Kettering?, I drive down 3rd every day to go home. I live in The Glendale Hills area, behind McLaren Hospital.

You will know me by either my yellow 87 Formula, with T-tops or by my 90 Riv, which is whte, with a gray vinyl top and brown lower body panels.
