Only one person has got the 4th Gen guages to work, but they have never came back to the board. They had a Camaro convertable that the swap was down in. Do a search. Your best bet yould be to to aftermarket guages, they are a alot more precise anyways. THe swap of the 4th Gen guages yould be too tidious.

man, gauges will be the least of your problems if your gonna try fitting a dash and door panels into a thirdgen. I only seen one guy do it too, and it was a serious amount of modyfying to the doors and I think a chunk of the dash had to go too.
Console and seats are much easier to do.

the door panels are much easier if the 4th gen dash is in there already, then their is no cutting reguired. Just keep in mind that both the dash and door panels will require all new mounting points. If you got time, then it would be easy, just takes injinuity.
One guy on here did the complete deal. 72BuickGSX, I think his name was. He even has a tech artical on his site. Man, that interior rules! I think the site is at this address: http://www.fortunecity.com/silerston...h/63/index/htm

I don't know why the link doesn't work, but that's the site alright! Copied it right off the browser...

I am going to do the swap.I have a 91 camaro and i plan to use a 98 trans am dash, console, gauges and everything.I plan on it taking about a week to do it in the summer with help from my friend. I am not sure but i believe that u can just use a calibration box to get the gauges to work but if not, its called a wireing harness. But it will look really nice when i am done because i am going to have 4th gen seats in also.just thought i would share

I am going to undertake this tast as well.
Should be easy for me since I will have a complete 4th gen drivetrain in my car. I will be getting the entire dash wiring from the 4th gen donor car. I can't wait.

How 'bout "Whatever you want to" ???
seriously, you can mount a plate in the ash tray, do a search, I know that I haven't dealt with that, i have them in peice of my old console, but its not glued down, and Zepher hasn't glued them either since he'll use the ones in the 4th Gen Door Panels.
I would defiantly watch his progress, it will be a great car when its finished, defiantly better than a 4th Gen!!!!!
and incase u were wondering how i am going to do it, the vents are different in the top so i am getting a custom grill made to fit over that part of the 4th gen dash and i am going to cut the hole out and put the grill over it.
