How to remove fade strip?

How do you remove the fade strip that is just above the gfx on 85-90 TA's?
Would adhesive remover help or is it useless on those vinyl strips?
I'm trying to remove it while saving the paint underneath, so it that possible.

Thanks

I removed the striping on my bird a little while ago...I can't recall if the T/A material is a bit different, but oh well. You have to be real patient, but I took an exacto knife blade and sloooowwwwwwwly chiseled (sounds like a bad word to use for paint!) the striping off. The paint underneath was fine, (looked brand new, so that made for some waxing/buffing), but I had to take Goof Off adhesive remover to the glue the viynl left over. Looked much better after I was done, sorry I don't have any pics.

<----is very dangerous with exacto knife
Well if that Goof Off stuff didn't hurt your paint then I'll try that first before taking the knife to my TA.

if you can get one edge started you can spray some WD-40 on the adhesive and it will disolve it pretty quickly, that stuff will remove most label type of adhesives really good.
