RSFreak, i believe he was talking about JUST this 5" spoiler, nothing else. That is your right though to buy something else. Either way i feel it has been such a long time for this, he should have just come back on here and told the truth! Even if he had plans to never make this thing again, anything would have been good for me. 9 months is a long time. And in the end, i don't think he would really care what we say b/c if he were to make this spoiler again, he would still take all of our money to the bank, no matter what has happened in the past. So all of this bitching gets nothing accomplished and secondly, does not even affect this guy/company. Taking sides is lame, nothing else to do but just sit back. later

My point was that I'm not just gonna wait for something that may never happen. I really want the 5" spiler, but I'm not gonna put my project on hold on the chance that this Rex guy gets off his *** and actually produces something.

does anyone on this board actually have this spoiler? i am going to try to turn my stock spoiler into a 5", no clue how it's gonna turn out. i don't really have much experience using glass, but you gotta learn somehow. if somehow i managed to make a good spoiler, how do you make a mold of it?

Anyone hear any more about this spoiler? i really really like it...it looks better than the stock spoiler...and doesn't look like you are tryin to take flight or gain solar power off it (like some of the hondas i see around here)
all i have to say is wow. i read the majority of this thread and saw how determined you guys are to get this spolier. i give you all credit for sticking with it, sucks about that guy at ASCD though, i ordered the front end of my vette from them like 3 years back, good price, fast service and good quality(still havent installed it though but anyway..)
I have decided to take some spare third gen spoiler parts i have and build my own "5 inch" spoiler. Just a few question you guys may be able to answer for me... does the base of the 5" spoiler widen more than the stock one? if so how much? i assume it keeps proportions to the stock one, just bigger overall size in most ways. that one guy made a good point about having the sides almost adjustable so that the lines arent off, that'll be the tricky part... As i progress with this project i'll take pics and explain how i did it.. but remember its my first shot at it so im doign the best i can so dont rip me apart, if theres a better way, just suggest it. As much as i wanna say the following few words, dont hold me to it... "if " its not too hard i would CONSIDER maybe making them and selling at a little over cost(cost wouldnt be much) but let me say again this is NOT a promise and dont hold me to it. but i'll try. SO...please send me the best pics of this spolier, my email is SmokingSS@aol.com i know there are pics on this board but id rather have the best in my email inbox, i just think its easier that way. I'll start looking atthe stock parts tonight and do some measuring.....-Paul

i believe from the picture the base is a little larger, but it looks to ramp up faster than the factory spoiler.
best of luck on the project, i will probably attempt to make one myself also one of these days. i am determaned to have one. so if ASCD won't make it, i will find another way.
we might also try contacting the new sponser of this site. maybe they can help us with this . . .

ok.. i think i foudn our spoiler.. kind of. when i was leaving target today there was a silverado with a ton-o-cover and a spoiler on the back.. well this spoiler looked JUST LIKE what our 5" spoiler shoudl look like. the only difference is this spoiler was more flat (like the new monte carlo spoilers) but hats cause his bed/ton-o-cover was flat. it even had the long peices on the sides liek ours do.. so i amagine if u take this spoiler.. and jus tput it on out cars at more of an " \ " angle it will fit perfectly. now to find soem web sites to see if they have the 1 i saw.

See what you find, but if it is the same one i am thinking about, it will not work at all! Nowhere to mount it on our cars. We'll see. Anyway, i emailed the web site above for the ram air hoods, and i got a response. His name is Paul and he showed a bit of interest. Nothing new as of yet but he would like an old one to make a mold from. I am guessing it would be easier than making a whole new spoiler. So, anyone with one and wants to give it up for a while to help us out, please, feel free to speak up. later

no one on this board has fessed up to owning that spoiler. probably because he knows that everyone will show up at his house at 3am, and steal it from him

who on this board has one? every time the topic comes up, the only pics that surface are the one from ascd and the camaro performers article. i wasn't implying that everyone was actually going to steal it, but i bet they would get a hell of a lot of rediculous offers on it.

I am speaking for myself when i say that i would not offer anything rediculous on a USED ONE. I doubt i would pay the $300 for a used one since i find it hard to believe that they were $300 new. If i knew how to reproduce them, i probally would buy it for $500 if it were in near perfect condition then reproduce them and make my money back, but not just to have one, no way! I do not recall someone having one on this board though. Only a few who have seen them out in public. Still no word back form the Ram Air hood company, maybe i should email them back and see if they are interested. later

Not yet, but I have it on good authority someone is going to make it soon, along with a few other needed fiberglass pieces. I can't say any more than that, but will when the time comes

My source isn't doing the Jongblood hood, though he'd like to if he had one to make a mold from. I really don't want to say who it is until they have the product ready; the mold hasn't been made yet. I just didn't want any of you guys giving up hope.:lala:

I haven't given up, just changed my focus. At first I was going to do the appearance, but now I am doing the performance first.

I think $200 is reasonable for that 5 incher but $450 is ridiculous (referring to the wrap-around stock replica)
PS- Why is my sig not working? Am i missing the show signature button?

Hey I haven't heard that before.
Just kidding!!
No I was tired of waiting on the jongbloed hood and the spoiler, and then the 700R4 decided that at 170K was the time it was going to start slippin. I dedided that lookin ugly and goin fast was just going to be how I go about fixin the camaro up.

Would you be able to maybe? I feel a little weird emailing him out of the blue. The reason i would need one besides the obvious is that the company above for the Ram Air hoods, they may be interested if they had an existing one to work off of. It is less time consuming for them if they had a spoiler to work from. If not then it would be out of the question for them to do this spoiler. Let me know what he says. I may email him later i guess. Here is my email: gwjw0216@optonline.net Thanks, Bryan

Guess who is a new member to the site.....none other than Rex Orr himself. It's gonna be interesting to get the story from the source.

Here is an interesting picture, my friends firebird has a 5 inch spoiler. It came with the car when he bought it... he has no idea where to get it.
I'll take more pics of it later.

There is a guy over at my college with that same spoiler. His car is all primered up so maybe they are "custom"?? Or maybe he was just filling in the lines for a nice smooth, one-piece look before he paints the car. Don't really know. Looks funky to me!

The idea was to make it look like a 70s Ta as you can see from the pic

Thanks for the info on that spoiler. Clears some things up! Also, i do not think he was saying it was an ASCD spoiler, just showing the pic of his freind's car with a 5"-similar spoiler on it, thats all.
