Worst thing that happened to your car?
What is the worst thing that has happened to your car.
'Bout 2 weeks ago I left the windows down on my car and 3 dogs followed a cat into the car by climbing up the doors (putting giant scratches all over them), over the half-opened windows (scratching them too). Then they slept in it overnight, covering the interior with fur, ate the seatbelts, and shredded the leather seats (not counting the slobber all over everything!)
The bad thing about it was that they were my cat and dogs, and I still have to pay for the food to feed them!

I know this thread has very little tech value...but that's a sad sad thing. It made me laugh at first...and then I remembered how much leather costs. Tough break man. You're going to have some NEW leather seats...just not cow leather.

Even though its not a new paint job on my car, the same cat and dogs sleep on the hood of it leaving scratches all over it. They have also got into a habit of jumping on my brothers 87 Mus***g convertible's hood but they don't do it no more...he he, you can imagine why!
whats the worst thing to happen to my thirdgen? The Previous Owner. Also, a great way to get rid of pesky cats, put a piece of fish in a bucket of antifreeze in the backyard by accident, if a neighbors cat wanders on to YOUR PROPERTY and eats it, not your fault, it was in your backyard. lol

Your stories reminded me of the time that I accidentally left my old Sunbird's top down overnight a few summers back. Nothing happened at first, besides some dew in the car the next morning.
Then, a few days later, two moths flew at my face from under the dash while I was merging on the highway late at night and scared the **** out of me - almost lost it. This episode had to repeat itself a couple more times before I realized that these guys were hatching one by one from inside my dash...

Worst thing that has happened to my car was after we installed the lowering springs, I forgot to tighten the lug nuts on the drivers side rear. Driving down the road to get some food, the wheel fell off. No damage to the car, just very embarrasing.

on a same story a nother buddy of mine was crusing down the hwy and ran over a traffic cone. messed up his front spoiler big time.
this is the guy who has no luck with his car at all.

Oh, here is a good one.
About 6 weeks after my Carb to TPI swap, the rod bearings went out and the motor was toast.
I've gone from a Quadrajet to an Edelbrock to a MAF TPI then to a MAP TPI and now to an LT4. All in less than 2 years.

Well my first car a 1988 iroc-z 5.7 fully loaded, i had the car for about 5 months and completely wrecked the car, i bought the car from a cop, and then i totalled the car be hitting a cop in his minivan. No one hurt. Good side to this was i paid about 700 dollars for the car and i parted to out making 1,500 dollars, so a profit of 800 dollars (not bad), so i know have 3 points on my driving record.
Second car a 1988 firebird formula 350, i had the car for about 6 months and i was hit in the rear by some girl. She bent the passengers frame rail in, the car was still driveable. I wound up settling out of court with her insurance and they paid me 3,400 dollars and i got to kept the. Then i sold the car for 800 dollars. So i paid 2,000 for the car, and recieved 4,200 for it, so i also profitted from this misfortune and made about 2,200.
Third thirdgen a 1991 firebird formula 350 very nice in and out, really good options. I still have it and i have had it for about 8 months.
I paid 5,800, but only about 2,800 out of pocket since i made the profits from the other cars. With the new car the only thing that happened so far deals with water, before it was on the road my grandfather left the window down a bit and it rained outside and it soaked the front seat and carpet, and then my t-tops where leaking a bit and i think i got all the leaks out of them.

About 2 months ago my brother parked his 85 iroc down front to sell it in the pasture (along with two horses) by the highway. So it had sat there about 2 days and we started noticing dirt globs on the car. Happened for a couple more days, until one day we noticed the hood bra was ripped off, and in pieces, the front bumper had a gash in it, and the horse stepped on the fiberglass '83 z28 hood, putting a giant hole in it. My brother ran around for a half hour chasing the horses and swinging the ripped hood bra at them. Lets just say hes not a very friendly horse anymore!:sillylol: :sillylol:
SBlackfoot, he must have found the same mechanic as the previous owner of mine did, btw, sabres will kick the maple leafs assssssss next year.lol. hows the garbage situation in toronto anyways??? listenin to 102.1 the edge and it sounds pretty bad. GL in toronto

Well, let's see. My hood louver flew off going down the road. About 3 weeks later a blackout flew off. Someone keyed my door. After a cam swap on the LG4 wouldn't start. Tranny never had OD since I had it, rebuild fixed that. Brake line leak lead to a rear master cylinder fix by a shop for $400. Several exhaust leaks. Hmm, wonder if I missed anything.

On my old 92 RS, someone scraped me in the parking lot and didn't stop. Pic is below. I fixed it myself with touch up paint and some clear coat.
As for the IROC, nothing too bad. Intake gasket sprung a leak 2 days after I got it, radiator blew and needed replacing, also replaced the alternator and my rear hatch motor busted. The day after I bought it I drove it to work. Theres a golf driving range behind my work where people are supposed to hit the ***** south, but sometimes ****** aim east (over the strip mall into the parking lot). I usually park as far down as I can to avoid golf *****, but since my hatch wasn't locking I parked in the first spot to keep an eye on it. Well a golf ball hit my roof and dented it. It took me 3.5 months to get money from them. I was lucky it didn't hit a t-top, only missed my driver's side one by an inch.

two things that have happend to my car is the previous previous owned ran from the cops becuz he had a tapped keg in the passenger seat. and he also go it in the passenger side by a semi truck. but things i didnt want to here but oh well.
hmm... 3rd and 4th went out on me coming home from work on the interstate in 5 o clock traffic... doing 30 doesn't go over to well with people wanting to get home fast... never seen so many middle fingers in my life.... got transmission rebuilt... then a few months later some guy puts his truck into reverse on a road in town and as i was turning into a parking lot he floors it and backs right into me... that was november 9th... and today we JUST replaced the OTHER door... now i have 2 red manual windows on a dark blue car... car gets painted metallic teal with pearl red ghost flames in a few weeks.. once i find a hood and front ground effects... WHOOHOO!! :lala:

Worst thing yet? When I totalled it. A parts car, some framework, a windshield, and I was back on the road. Then I restored it... and after 5 years of neglect and having "too much fun", I've gotta restore it again.
Previous owner rear ends a van. Hey these things happen. I bought it like that, fix it, and the next fall in school someone backs into the fender while the cover was on and didn't stop or anything. Then the trans lets go merging onto the interstate. I feel your pain man. Some people just don't understand what hazards mean I guess. The car gets keyed because my rented house was in the damn gettho. Didn't get the dist. tightened down all the way after the last test and tune and it jumped up out of the hole at a stop light. Good thing I still had the wrench and my light with me.
That's not as bad as the two Horizon's I've taken off the road. One rear ended a Dodge Ram(fitting). The other was rolled once by my brother. Take that Chrysler!!!

Mine would be having the car stolen a week before it was to go into storage. Got the car back a week later pretty much stripped. Wheels, hatch, t-tops, stereo. The entire interior was destroyed when the thieves took the stereo out. They pretty much used a prybar on everything and broke all the interior plastic. Even the dash was broken off the supports. Both doors were keyed and the roof was dented from them walking on it.
Luckily I only had liability insurance on it so I bared the complete brunt of the damage personally and financially.
But the car is what it is now because of that.

KarpsTA: I'll assume you're not just running liability anymore? If I only had to pay liability, my car would be a lot faster than it is right now because that $$ could have gone to mods, but I pay that extra $$ just in case something like what happened to you happens to me!
Worst that ever happend to mine... that I know of... was the scrape on the side on the drivers quarter panel. Its not bad, but it pisses me off. Mom scratched the door hitting it with hers too in the garage. Dammit. Oh well, I've decided that I'm just gonna get a hood, spoiler, and 91-92 GFX all at the same time. And since the quarter and door could use repainted, heck, just re do the whole car. But new motor and tranny rebuild are gonna happen first. The body stuff won't be for about 2 years.
A bus tagged me last year. Dumb SOB didn't stop. Had to chase him down which wasn't a real problem.

Two months ago some idiot back into my car. Alarm went off. Went outside to lay the smackdown.
