Depends on the company and were you live. I know in missouri that we only need liablity. My insurance company (my parents company) charges a flat $100 for me per month on my 5.0tbi 91rs, this rate won't change until i get a ticket or in an accident and is not vehicle dependant, the agent made the comment that i could drive a 1/4million dollar car and if its liablity only it would still be $100 a month.

well, 2 years ago when i was 16 and had a V6 in my camaro, i was paying 1600w/o collisions or $2100 w/collision. And thats on my parents insurance plan. I got ripped off from what i am told but Erie insurance is expensive as far as i can tell.

Ahhhh to be 16 again. The only reason why I wouldn't want to be is insurance rates. My first car was a 69 Camaro I bought when i was 15. My father refused to add me to his policy for the reason if I got in a wreck his rates would skyrocket too. I paid 2,500/ year for my own policy! I got in a wreck 2nd day I had my license so Dad was/is a smart man. I then paid 3,200/year. I had two jobs just to drive. It didn't even go down that much until I turned about 19 (probably because of the tickets). I'm 28 now and pay about 3,200 a year for full coverage on 3 vehicles one of them brand new. Being married helps too for some reason. Stick it out fellas just don't f up your parents premiums....lol.

88GT, man if i had 1 dollar for every time one of the guys at the cruise nights told me that, i would be rich man, hehehe. And LT1 maro, thanks man thats about what i pay for my buick, so my guess is that the rates shouldn't skyrocket like crazy. Well, if i have convinced my mom to let me drive the bird enough, we'll check out the rates tomarrow, and i'll post 'em, that way other people wondering the same will know mine is a tpi 305 formula, so my guess is that it may joust things up a bit. Who knows, we'll see.

I'm 16 right now. I paid $1,184 for the year on my own insurance. I don't know what it would be a month since I paid for it at one time.

I'm 20, pay $1075 every 6 months, and I pay it myself. In about 6 weeks, it'll have been 3 full years since I've had a ticket or been in an incident. Thats for full coverage, which I will never go without unless its a POS car. Like getting broken into last summer, liability would have done nothing about that. Or when I was 16 and did something stupid, rear ended a pickup in my oldsmobile, liability wouldn't have covered that. When I got T-boned by a stolen pickup in that same oldsmible in a hit and run accident the day before my senior year, well, I woulda been screwed too. The car was totalled, and I just got a new job a week beforehand. But Because the truck was stolen, their insurance wasn't liable. Thank *** for comprehensive and collision coverage.
