i like the sun, but i can understand where your coming from, i lived in florida for awhile and sometimes, impossible as it may seem, you can't stand having the tops off, gotta have the A/c on.

Do you guys know if they made different size t-tops for pre 88 fbodys. I have a 91TA, my buddy has a 92, other buddy has a 88 and my dad has a 90, they are all the same. My other buddy has a 87 and he shattered one top all over the interior. We can't find a replacement cause nothin fits. His ttops are a good 2 inches shorter, front to back, than mine. Any ideas if his may have been aftermarket, or if they are dofferent from the factory. Any ideas where to get these things? Junkyards aint workin out. Thanks!

I'v seen people talking about dealer installed after market tops, I cant find the posting right now, but if there is a strip molding running on the back and front side of the opening it is aftermarket and hard to find. I'll look and see if I can find the link to the posting.

Make your own

If I was you I would just get me some felt like your headliner is made out of, and some strong cardboard or 1/8 in pliwood and cut it to fit in and cover them in felt. Just get some 3m spray adheasive at wal-mart or somewhere. Coat the cutout and lay the felt out flat, streach it a little and put something heavy on the 4 sides. Drop the cutout ontop and pressdown. At each corner cut a slit and fold about 1.5 inch of felt over. Paint the top black. Let dry a few days, where your interior dosen't stink like glue. You should be able to rest it on top of the headliner board, or you can use velcro and velcro it to the glass. Just don't get it between the glass and the metal it will make it leak. If you have the lexan tops, I would not use velcro because if you ever take the velcro off you can't scrape lexan with a rasor, it will scrach.

Oh yea, if your headliner is faded, you can probably get the cloth out of an 84-90 grand-am and cut it to use. I't will match w/o a little better, than new felt. You may even be able to use the board, also depends on the junkyard's prices.
