Door hinges and striker/wedges
Door hinges and striker/wedges
has anybody tried to replace there door hinges?
I did it once on an 80 camaro but me 84's hinges look like they might be welded to the doors and bolted to the car. My doors have a lot of slop in them and they are next in my anti rattle crusade. If any body has done this please tell me how and how much for the parts.
Also i just shimmed the little wedges that hold the door in place when it is closed, the body shopt idiots left some of the shims out and they rattle something feirce when the windows were closed ( i could hear them then). Does anybody have the PN for this set its a rubber wedge, stainless strike plate and shims. i would like to add a set to each door

your kit looks great! is it 70 for 2 upper pins?
whats the deal with the lowers? It says on your site buy 2 uppers and get the lowers free is that 70 for each door or both?
i would like to replace the rolers too, how much for these?
and do i need any special tools?

Here is the link to the installation instructions. The tools required are a Dremel tool, a spring compressor (for the detent spring on the lower door hinge), a 7/16" 12 point box end wrench, a 3/4" open end wrench.
Many users have reported that they found it easier to remove the door during the hinge replacement. I do not remove the door when I do it. But I can see where the door removal method does have some merit. It definitely gives you much more room to work.

One member has done the roller repair/replacement. Perhaps he can post his exepience for you. I have these parts, but do not yet have them on the website. Because I do not have the photos, or instructions on the website yet. I have been way too busy getting my new CD out.
Normally the bushing just drops in, if not a very small amount of sanding or fileing will permit it to fall right in. Many members have done this procedure with no problem.
It sure beats cutting the hinge off the door!
