center console

no not a fourth gen one (i have a camaro and dont want to deal with the firebird radio pod)

ok, has anyone tried to remove the carpet on the side of the console? and left the plastic uncovered

i have the all red interior and wanted to ad some more black to offset the red

(the black and red 4th gen seats will help when i can find a set for cheap)

Hmmm removing the carpet would probably be a pain, especially getting all the dried adhesive off the plastic. My thought would be to go to the boneyard and get a plain lower console from an SC and bolt it in. Either that or dye/paint the carpet black, but that might look tacky.

I removed my old carpet and put new on, it wasn't that easy but not all that hard. I a lot of pulling, I used a razor blade to help. They use a strong rubber glue. I used silicone to put it back on.

Ended up like this....
