Oh yeah... I finally found out what I'm going to do with the cheesy counter thing on it.

When I get a chance to build a DIY Wideband O2 sensor I'm gonna buy one of these to mount in the counters place

Just thought I'd share.

That's a non-t-top car console. The t-top ones are straight. The non-t-top are curved.

Not bad... not jealous either. Picked my first one up for $15, and my second for ten in relatively new condition.

I actually scored one at a swapmeet this summer with a flashlight and maplight (but the retainer ring for the maplight is gone), AND the mounting hardware for .... $5

It's also for a hardtop (and my car is a T-top) but hey you can't pass it up for that.

Hey, anyone got that retainer ring I need???

The one he won in that auction is a T-Top one. I currently have 3, and Id like to TRADE for a hard top one if anyone is interested!

Bah now that I look at it more and more, he might be right about it being a hard top console. We really need some more pics to really determine. The ttop consoles are straight, and the one you won looks curved, but it also looks thin like a ttop one which could mean its a little warped. From that pic, there really isnt any way to be %100 sure. If its a hard top one, maybe Ill trade you if the trade Im working on now doesent come through.

I'll be selling mine as soon as I cut the T-Bar off.
Targa tops are really nice, I am so envious of my friends Targa top on his 95 Supra TT.

how will you fab up a targa top for your car? and how are you going to re-inforce the frame ... roll bar/cage ? either way you do it will only add to the cool factor of your car man

if i remember correctly there was a guy a few months ago who was b*ll****ting and shining everyone on about how he fabbed up a targa top for his car and oh it was soooo cool but never came thru with pics or info or anything . does anyone know if he ever posted with pics on that conversion ?

( it might help people remember the thread if i mentioned that it eventually became a joke and everyone discussed sports and the weather and who had seen what movies in the thread :sillylol: )

I will have subframe connectors and an 8 point roll cage.
this mod won't happen until I get the motor in the car and it is running. I can only afford one project at a time, and this motor/tranny one is costing me an arm and both my legs.

i'm still shocked no one has tried it yet. if i had the room to do it, i would just get some beater with t-tops for cheap, throw sub frames on it, and hack that center bar off. i really don't seeing it being all that hard a project on a t-top car.

i will do it when i move out. don't make me be the first to try it

Only tough part if your frame is all ready made tough enough would be making it so both t-tops are made into one targa top, and it stoll look ok from inside when top is on.

I've got an 86 Firebird in my backyard that I could practice on, but I don't know if I am going to sell it or part it out.
