Having Problems with my Nuts

Or actually, I should say a nut . My driver seat's railing (this may not be the correct terminology, the piece of metal that connects the seats to the floor) rusted out and broke by where a bolt is. Now I'm looking into getting new seats, but the nut on the (14mm?) bolt is completely rusted shut.

Anyone have any tricks for loosening rusted fasteners? I'm almost thinking of trying to break the nut off with brute force, but I dont want to break the bolt as well. And if I couldent recover either the bolt or the nut, is there a way to replace them both?

Some penetrating oil should do the trick. Look it up in your local hardware store.

Nice subject line
