wetsanding before clearcoat

I put down a few layers of color and there's a bit of orange peel. do I have to wetsand it before clearcoating? with 2000 grit or something?

If it is a metalic you will probally cause a hallow if you try to wetsand before clear, also you don't want a shiny/smooth base coat it is for coverage only and your clear coat will give you your final aperance. The only thing is that you must clear within 24hrs of you base otherwise you run the risk of the clear not chemically bitting into the base unless you want to hit everything with 1500 or 2000 then put a little more color then your clear.

I would say sand it and try laying on another color coat. THE clear coat will just amplify and make the orange peel STAND out more.
