Por 15

My camaro was in an accident. I have pulled the drivers 1/4, the hood and the nose and some bumper looking thing behind the nose. Once I replace those items the car will be 100 percent. (impact was at 20-30MPH)

My question is has anyone used por 15. I was thinking of using it to prevent rust in that area. There is no rust now, but I figured it would help. I was also thinking has anyone made their engine well black with this stuff. My car is white and so is my engine well. Actually it is a real nasty dirty used up white looking under the hood area.

I see on many older muscle cars the engine well is black when the car is another color..

Opinions, Ideas?

I've used POR15, and love it.

Be sure to wirebrush away all the rust you can first, and wear gloves.

For the engine bay, I'd use the semigloss black.

Brian:
Zero Rust is an easy to use alternative, available in aerosol or bulk quantities and in 10 colors.

I used all three steps of the POR-15 system on the axle I swapped in, and the job came out great. I bought the Super Starter Kit for $20 and it was just enough to give the axle two coats. Great thing is, the POR-15 flows so thin that you can actually use a paint brush. Since you're painting over a rusted surface, the brush helps you work the POR-15 in... http://www.por15.com
