New carpet color suggestions, want contrast to black interior
I have a black and graphite interior that I am restoring/upgrading. Here is what I have:
Original Dash - Black
Original Carpet - Black
97 trans am center console - Graphite
Firebird Radio pod - Graphite
95 Z28 power leather seats - Graphite
Graphite is very close to black and there is really no clashing right now, but that is because the carpet is worn down and the sail panels are more grey than black. I am recovering them in vinyl to match the seats. Anyway I had to cut out the carpet chasing a bad wire that had to be fixed due to the last owner. I want to see what you guys think would be best color for the new carpet:
Black, Graphite, or a contrasting color (please postwhich contrasting color if that is your choice)
Thanks guys I am ordering monday so I need everyones opinions

Get Black. I changed my whole interior to black with graphite seats, and I got the Graphite carpet too. Whenever I look at my carpet, I wish I had done it in black. Its a PITA job too, so you're not going to want to do it again, lol.

Wow, nearly split down the middle. The entire interior is out now, most of my wiring is done, so the carpet is next.
Anyone else care to chime in before I buy it?

Black!!
Go with dark colors in the low places and lighter in the high places. Think of it as highlighting. You have the dark carpet, and a grayish console/seats. I have:
1) black carpet
2) Red carpeted console from another thirdgen withn the black trim top
3) Charcoal and Red seats from a 96 Z-28
4) Black carpet (bottom) fire red velour (top) door panels from Hawks
5) Red Headliner from Paddocks (buy cheap material from a cloth store...saves much more money!!!)...Comes with red visors/sails
6) Grant Corsa red/black steering wheel.
7) Red cargo carpet
The contrasts look sweet. Especially when you take a pic from behind the car and have the hatch, and doors open.
The only thing I wish i did when doing this was tak more time. This was the first time i ever modded/worked on a car. It is a bit sloppy (the holed for the visors are a bit too big and when they are down you can see em)
Just take your time. I need to take pics of my setup and post em.
