Removing Decal tape

How do you remove the back of the tape around the ground effects on a Trans Am? Some of mine peeled off and Im not sure how to get the backing off. Also if it comes off, will you be able to notice the different shades of paint?

If you go to an auto body store they have what's called an "auto eraser" or something along that line made specifically for removing decals. Basically it a round "eraser" that fits into a drill/die grinder-low speed- and you just go along the decals you want removed, it does not harm the paint in any way, just erases the pin strip/decal. Sometimes it'll gum up the old adhesive and you'll have to go back with like WD-40 and wipe it off and repeat, then once your done just get some good glass cleaner to get the residue off and some kind of buffing/polishing compound to bring the area back to life. Depending on age and UV exposure there will be a slight color difference where you removed the decals.

The eraser's work REALLY REALLY well....I have used them many many times and they are great and are worth the money.
