Will a 6 speed 4th gen console work with a 5 speed? I want to put a 5 speed in my car so I was going to sell my auto 4th gen console but then I thought about it and started to wounder if it would work because I am pretty sure that the t56's shifters sit back farther than the t5's shifters. Any one have a 5 speed with a forth gen console???

 

if your honna get the 5 speed anyway just keep the console and see if it fits, when u put it in if it doesn't fit sell it and get another.

 

The console I have now is for an automatic. I just don't need to buy the 6 speed console if it isn't gonna work anyways.

I think I remember someone saying they used a 6 speed one with a 5 speed trans and just used 6th gear as reverse. But I'm not 100% sure.

does anyone know what kind of traany Zepher WS6 has?? he has a manual tranny with a 4th gen console. Anyone? Thanks guys.

 

i think i heard on the boards awhile back that no matter what tranny, you have to use a 6 speed 4th gen console in a 3rd gen cause it has more room.just slide that shifter right up in and get her boot straightened up
