New headliner install
I just picked up an abs plastic headliner and need to install it. There are no holes for my overhead console. Do I copy the cutouts in my old headliner? Some of the holes are huge. Keep them this size? What did you use to cut the plastic with? The new headliner has no clips up front. Is that ok? Any tips for an easy install? Visor install? seatbelt install? Its for a t-top. Thanks.

What you need to do is use the old headliner as a guide. There pretty easy to do. What I dod was draw the holes on the inside of the new ABS thing and then put a small hole in the center to make sure it lined up correctly. Then once all the holes were drilled properly, anything bigger than that, I used a dremel to hog out. After all holes are made, put it up in the car and bolt it on. This way you know everything is lined up right. All thats left is to spray the liner, then put the material on, and bolt it back up and that's it.
Have fun.

Headliner Install
Hi DD,
I did a complete interior overhaul of my 85 Z28 this summer and installed a new headliner (t-top) which came as a prefab fiberglass or plastic form. Mine has a small hole where the dome light goes, but I have the dome/maplight and had to increase the size, I used a coping saw to do that. Mine is held in place by the front visor mounts, dome/map light and then a rear trim piece. The visor mounts were pre-drilled, I may have had to modify them slightly. I mounted the center portion 1st by installing the dome light, then the visors, then the rear trim piece. It helps to have a second set of hands for the initial anchoring with the dome light. Good luck !! giantsjohn
