Hello. I just purchased a used '87 Iroc with 106,000 mi. on it.

I was wondering if anyone has run into the problem that I'm having with the hood.

When I close the hood, the latch seems to be hitting on something, preventing the hood from fully closing. The hood goes down, but will not fully close and catch. I think that the hook part of the hood latch is preventing the hood from closing.

Is there a known fix for this, or can anyone give any suggesstions on how I can get the hood to shut securely?

I think I understand what your getting at here. Check the latch itself. It could be loose or it could be lowered. All you have to do is move it up and that should let it fully engauge. You'll probably just have to mess with the whole assembly but that should work. Also, make sure everything is "lubed" up.
