!!!Please help me, can't turn key??!!

I am leaving thursday for IL to visit on leave. Well, after I put my radio in today, I had the shifter back in low gear, and tried to turn the key to accesorie. Well, something broke i guess, becuase now I cant turn the key. I can put it in and remove it, but cant turn it at all!!! How hard is it to replace the key switch ??? Is that the problem? please I must finish this tomorrow, thanks

I replaced mine during the summer. Its pretty easy. Lets see the steering wheel needs to come off. Go to like an autozone and rent a steering wheel puller. Then theres gonna be screws underneath that hold on this white plastic thing. Take those out. In a Clymer manual it shows one screw that holds it in. Take it out and the ignition slides right out.

that happened to me a couple times if ya pull on the steering wheel (toward you) and try to turn the key it will ussually work just try pulling it in diff angles/directions toward you while trying to turn the key.

Check your ignition switch located on the side of the steering column. That went out on mine and I could not move the key to any position. The switch was only like 20.00 at checker. Good luck. T

Dont remember when I took the camaro apart, but on my daughters truck I had to buy a tool to compress the plate down to remove/install the snap ring holding the plate on... price of tool was only 6 bucks though.
