door hinge

I apparently have a unique problem. My door hinge is shot on the drivers side. Everone talks about the upper hinge. I have a 88 convertible iroc and my lower hinge is the one that is shot. Not the bronze bushing bit the door hinge itself is wobbled out. How can I correct this??

The easist way I can think of is to take the door off and replace the hinge with a good one.

As long as the pin and bushings are only effected and not the holes the bushings fit into, removing the door isn't necessary. You just have to push out the old pin and bushings and press in a new one. I modified a large C-clamp to do the job. You can also do it with a punch. Then you just grind off the swaged lips of the bushings and drive them out. Much easier than the upper hinge pins.
