power seat rail

I have 2 power seat rail questions. Seat rail is off an 83 ta w/pmd seats. I installed it on my drivers side lear siegler seat. Everything worked except only one side would go forward & backward. One of the cables that connects the motor to metal piece that moves it forward & backward is missing. Are these pieces available seperately or do I have to get a new motor. Second question is the plastic trim piece would not fit on mine because of the thigh adjustment ****. Is there a plastic trim piece for lear siegler seats or they never came powered. Thanks for any help provided.

Thanks, now I know what I'm looking for. You wouldn't know about the cables for the motor would you?

Whether the cable is available or not I couldn't say. However, since your seat will bolt to any thirdgen electric track, I suggest the boneyard route--the whole track might well be cheaper than the cable from GM.

Thanks for your help. I called my pontiac dealer, and the cable is discontinued. I'll go back to the junkyard and see if a cable from another GM seat will be compatiable. Hard to find F body electric seat rails.

I have I think 2 power seat rails, and there all different, one is from an 83 and the other is from an 86, you might just try and find the whole rail assembly in the junkyard.

That's good info to know. Too bad Gm couldn't just leave well enough alone.
