Fabric protection-- PLEASE HELP

Hey all,

I scored a set of seats for my 83 Camaro this past weekend. They are in flawless condition and are the correct sand gray color. However, they are also the woven millport cloth and sierra grain vinyl. I know these seats were not known to hold up too well (as evident to the thrashed ones currently in my car). Is there anything I can do (such as Scotchgarding) to ensure that this set of seats lasts?

Any and all suggestions are welcome!

You said it yourself. Scotchguard. The other best bet is to keep a towel or something available, that way if you are dirty you can cover the seat. Grey seat worst enemy is human sweat and skin. Driving topless ( ladies included )J/K on a hot summers day will shorten the clean life of you interior.

Thanks KAZ--

I'm not too worried about keeping the interior clean as I am looking at preventing the millport woven cloth from ripping. Is there anything that would make the fabric more pliable?

Keep em comin'...

I don't know if you can make them more pliable or stronger. I have found that sometimes. Depending on the make, a good quality seat cover will keep them nice. Be carefull though, some seat cover can cause more damage then good. Don't buy the real cheap ones anyway.
