weird *** speedo

My bud picked up a 19?? third gen. Its an odd one with features i've not seen before. It looks like it was a crossfire, but its hood is fiberglass, and it has the indented hood louvers, but no flaps at the base. (its not crossfire) The oddest part is the speedo. It has a speedo that vaguely represents a compass. Half the gauge is MPH, the other half is MPH. Anyone know anything about this behemoth or have pictures of it ?

The fiberglass hood is stock for an '83 Z28. The dual needle speedo was used on all those cars as well. One side reads MPH the other reads KPH.

My sisters 87 SC maro has the dual needle "flip flop" speedo. I hate it, its the most retarded thing I have ever seen. LFN AT U is correct about the hood, 82 and 83 Z28s got a fiberglass hood with non functional indents in it.

It is my understanding that only the 82-84 Camaros got the dual speedometer setup. The 85 Z-28 i had didnt have it, nor did a 90 RS, or 86 IROC owned by friends.

Id say assuming all the parts you mentioned are original, you have an 82-84 Z-28, as the hood you mentioned was unique to Z-28s IIRC.
