Yes, there is a sensor like that. I had it on my t-top, but disabled it because it gave a lot of false alarms. It was actually a dual zone sensor where you could set it to chirp or ring depending on how close there was movement in relation to the sensor. It has to be installed in the center of the vehicle for it to be effective, but like I said it gives false alarms.

Ask for "proximity sensors" or "microwave sensors".

I've not seen many problems with falses from the microwave sensors, but I know Viper alarms have "nuisance bypass circuitry" which cuts off a zone if it's been tripped repeatedly a certain number of times in a certain amount of time. Like it'll bypass your shock sensor if a thunderstorm keeps setting it off, or an intermittant door pin switch etc. Of couse that feature can be switched on or off...

Where?

BubbaKutz: I have a proximity sensor on my alarm for the same reason (t-tops). My problem is that when I took the car in to get the alarm installed, the interior was half ripped-out of it. When I picked-up the car, I found that they mounted the sensor between the seats on the hump where the console goes.

I'm hoping to put the car together this spring and I wanted to know where you guys with these motion sensors have the actual sensor mounted in the car (and does it work correctly there)? I was planning on just putting it inside the console.
