New interior neons and steering wheel

Well I got the new steering wheel on and I am half way through getting the neons in. I screwed the neons to the plastic closest to your shins. I have pics of the old steering wheel, and the neons on the plastic. I will get the other pics tomorrow. I also changed the white lights by the feet to blue and I bought the blue dome light but it sucks. I was thinking about two things, 1 they have blue covers that you can buy for the stock dome light, or 2 paint the inside of the dome cover blue. Which would be better??
Let me know what you think,
Brian

neons under the dash look awesome. i've had mine in place for about a year and a half now. now you just need some underbodys to match.

as for your dome light... personally, i just took the bulb out, sanded the glass a bit, and painted a layer of water-based blue paint on it. it makes the light look WHITE (and a little little little bit blue) , but it gets rid of the yellowness altogether... plus the mod was so easy and free to do.

I also agree that underdash neons look cool.

Just PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE make sure you can't actually see the neon tubes, just the glow from them. No wires either.

I am finishing it up right now. You cant see the bulbs and there are no wires to be seen either. I have the switch mounted under and to the right of the steering wheel. I will finish it up today and post pics of it tonight. Thanks for the feedback.

Hey steve, what do you mean you sanded the glass? The glass on the bulb?

yup, sanded the glass on the bulb itself.

i know it seems a little "welfare" ish... but it was the only way that paint was gonna stick, and you cant see any of it afterwards anyways. and its better than paying 10 bucks for the same thing from "Matrix Racing" at the local store.

At pep-boys they sell blue bulbs that fit in the interior dome light spot, and in any other light bulb spot in your car. I think that would be the best solution...and I like the blue neons under the dash. Do you have any pics of your neons w/ them on anth's iroc?

Yeah those work great....................for a week then the heat from the bulb makes the color fade back to white. I felt stupid for wasting my money.

That is what I did for a week also. Then I put blue LEDs in there and it makes a much better light. I also have blue leds in the dash and a blue led dome light to go with my blue neons, which are hooked to a blue switch

Brian

I cant believe someone dug this up.
