Door Trim

I've been searching and can't seem to find any threads regarding this door trim part (probably because I don't know what to call it). I'm rebuilding a 86 IROC and am currently working on the doors. I ordered a complete door kit which included all the weatherstripping and door panels but did not include the plastic trim piece that sits on top of the door and covers the door between the window and the the door panel. This piece runs the entire length of the door. Mine are cracked and by the time I got them off the door they were destroyed. What is this part called and where can I get new ones?

I think you are talking about the inner piece and not the outter, but they are called window sweeps I think? but they are like 160 each from the dealer and about the same anywhere else I have seen, I need them to but that is a little pricey for a piece of plastic.

Now if you are talking about the curved plastic trim that sits on top of the interior door panel. Here are the GM p/n's 12394510 Right & 12394511 left side. They come only in black and can be ordered from gmpartsdirect for around $45 each and are called Support Assemblies.

I don't know where camarokid buys his parts, but the local dealer sells them here for $65 a piece. These are OEM/NOS and not a replacement part.

Many thanks, the guy at the parts counter evidently wasn't the sharpest tool in the shed or he would have been able to tell me this. I ordered the parts via the internet for $92 for the pair.

When you order parts on the internet expect to pay shipping charges or go to your Local GM Dealer and get raped on the price.

I expect to pay shipping but $9.00 per item is a little much.

correction, I called the dealer today and was quoted 60 each and that is with the discount of being a mechanic. So please share where you got them for 100

If these are the right part numbers GM Parts Direct has them.

12394511-$47.50 plus $9.50 shipping

12394510 -$44.62 plus $8.92 shipping

Total=$110.54 unless you live in NC then you have to add sales tax.

I have no problem with the price of the parts but charging you that much shipping is not right. They could ship those for just the $9.00 they charge for the first pc.

I am the wise *** that gave you the P/N's for the door trim parts and a suggested source. Your the A--H complaining about the shipping charges, so keep your remarks to yourself.

I got them from Bransington Parts. I noticed the confirmation they sent me showed shipping which brought the total to $113. They sell at 15% over cost, maybe thats similar to Parts Direct?
