Fourth Gen Dash SWAP!!
Guess what!!!! I was looking in the paper today and there was an ad for a 95 parting out camaro. I called and he wants $75 for the dash, cluster, HVAC controls, and all the wiring for the dash!! Isnt that awsome! As soon as I get done pulling it and returning home (leaving at 1PM, back at around 4), ill see if I can post pictures and give you all some info! Im gonna clean it up this weekend, and hopefully next week ill install the dash. Can I leave my 3rd gen gauges in there for now? Is this possible? Cause my mom is buying this for me for my birthday present
! and I have no money for the dakota digital box right now
. Help would be much so ever appreaciated! Thanks!

I'm no expert on this, but I think that you can't leave the 3rd gen cluster in because of the shape of it. Man did you get lucky!! I wish I would have been around. Does this guy still have the seats?

I am going to be going through the same thing when I start my Firebird dash swap. I have new guages (2001's) but I am going to try to use my current guages for now till I figure out how to get the new ones to work. To use your current Im pretty sure you will have to fab something up to hold them. I have seen it done on one of these f body websites along time ago but I haven't been able to find it again.

I went to get it today, it was so cold! It was out of a 1995 White camaro v6 and no, there were no seats, i guess someone came the day before and picked them up for a chevelle that theye were building. The guy was gonna give me the console for free, but I already had one, and it was automatic. The guy was pretty cool. The dash looked fine, but there are three cracks in the plastic structre under neeth the padding and cluster, since the air bags went off. And then the fact that the air bag thing is poped up. Im gonna try plastic welding all this stuff back together, so it should be fine. But for 75 bucks, that isnt that bad. I just gotta buy the VSS converter and a radio install. I also got the airbag modulators and activators or whatever, fuse block, alarm system, and a whole crap lodda wiring. Well, all i gotta say is keep your eyes open and keep looking, this stuff comes around all the time, apparently
Here is some pictures.
Here is some pictures. um doesnt the v6's come with a different red line for the tach and a different speed spedometer? if so then it wouldnt work for your car cuz yours is a v8 right? anyway nice score man, your interior will look sweet after that, im doing the same to my camaro, except i still need to find a dash i got everything else
good luck man!
good luck man!

Nope, the redline on the tach is alittle higher if not the same as RS gauges. The speedometer is the exact same mph (110 mph). It doesnt matter what engine you have, the sensors are all compatible. Oh and i think i may have found a loop hole to using the VSS interface by dakota digital. Look into my post i put up on it. Later

I think you meant to say call. Same reason they call my 82 Firebird Trans Am a thirdgen and a 92 Trans Am a thirdgen. Both look a bit different, have slightly different interiors and different engines. The 4th gen Camaros and Firebirds are the same, they changed slightly over the years, the change wasn't big enough to warrant a whole generation change.
Oh and nice find =) Good luck with everything.

the bodys on the 4th gens stayed they same for the most part, all that changed was the front and rear bumpers and the hood.
