i would maybe just weld in new sheet metal.. but first cover the rust with that por 15 stuff.. to stop it and then patch over it with new sheet metal..thats what i would do..

but i dont know anything about body work... just a guess.

if those are rotted through, you REALLY don't want to see what it looks like underneath your ground effects.

Agreed.... take a look under your car and see how bad it is... man that salt really rapes metal If its only around that area i'd take a cut off tool to it and weld in some new sheet... hope your good with sheet metal fabrication :lala:

well ive been under the car lots for various things and there is rust on the floor pans but nothing rotted through im going to wire wheel it down and then por 15 it. i never thought of under the ground fx, i guess ill be a bit upset when i take them off? ohh well, its all gettin painted anyways. so i cant get a replacement fender well? i guess thats ok. i just figured i wanted it to look like nothing was ever changed.

Car: Camaro of course
I love my garage, I love my de-humidifier.

I almost bought a 68ish XKE that had a rusted rocker pannel, I found that one had to take a piece of sheet metal cut it to be the right shape, plasma cut the rusted areas off, heat n' beat the new piece untill it fit and lookedlike new (I dont like bondo) and than weld it, repaint and put a clear por-15 stripe on the bottom. Well that was my experience hope it helps.

If its only surface rust, you can just use a torch to sorta burn it off (NOT cut it off) can't you? i'm not 100% on this, so don't take my word for it, but a friend of mine is doing that with the trunk of his '67 Mustang, and from what i've heard, is going well (but i have not seen it myself)

my gta's wheel wells are worse. around the rim the rolled up metal is splitting apart. inside the wheel well I can stick a screw driver through pretty easily. it just gives way and just crunches.

I was thinking what it would look like if I took the side skirts off since even they're peeling off at the back top edge.

I've been under the car and there is no visible rust through the floor.

ah well.
