hatch motor and key lock Q

hatch motor and key lock Q

will hatch open and shut correctly if i remove hatch pull motor from it ?


andalso is key lock in the hatch same length as one in a trunk deck of other models of cars ?

That would work for a short time. Unfortunately you are still relying on plastic components (the motor housing) which attach the latch portion to the frame with 3 screws. It isn't designed to withstand slamming the hatch closed, which is what you'll have to do once you defeat the pull-down motor. So, you are left with a couple of options. I see many in the junkyards that have had the latch portion bolted or welded to the frame part. This method will work and allow you to slam the hatch closed. Or you can rebuild your hatch pull-down unit to stronger than new using the parts I have available.

thanks for info, i appreciate it, so about how long or hard ot remove hatch motor assembly how many bolts or screws ?

Yep. It slips into a slot on the plastic part called a "motor housing" that houses the gear nut. That style of motor has been discontinued by GM. They have replaced it with a new style which has an integral motor housing that screws to the motor with 2 screws. This is it:
