exterior decal/badge questions - 91 z28

(1) the "5.7 tuned port injection" emblem on the rear bumper on the left side. Can someone post picture or measurement of where exactly it's supposed to be affixed? I think the previous owner (whom I think replaced the emblem) has it too far to the left.

(2) the "5.7 tuned port injection" stickers directly beneath the "Z28" emblems located on the ground effects (forward of doors, behind front tires). Is a 91 Z28 supposed to have these stickers? My parts book says NO, but I want to be sure before I remove them (I think previous owner may have stuck them on there).

I want both of these items to be factory correct. Any help appreciated!

(1) The tpi emblem for the rear bumper is about 2-3" in from the groove that runs along the bumper cover. At least thats where mine is(was).
(2) there is no 5.7 tpi stickers under the Z28 emblems on the ground effects on the 91-92 z28's. only the IROC-Z's had them.

Are you looking to restore a car or just want it to look generally stock because I bet there is a lot of varations on the placement of that rear emblem. Those guys at GM just plop those on as its going down the line

I just want it to generally look stock.

This is how the car exists now:

Well...if you want the "stock" look....the emblem on the rear will need to be moved over...and the decals will need to be removed. But.....I mean....the decals look pretty kewl...it's just not stock...

removing the stickers from the ground effects can be done easily if its warm out and I see you live in Cally so your in luck. dont use a razor blade. As for the rear, some of those emblems come right off if dirt has found its way in behind it. if it does not come off easy then get a hair dryer and heat it up a little. dont heat too much or the paint will bubble, then try to remove it slowly. Chances are that the paint behind the emblem is gonna come off with the glue so I hope your ready for some touch up paint.
Oh and be careful not to break the emblem either. they break real easy.

now your ready to put it back on. A good quality glue from 3M works perfect for this. try heading to the local parts store and see what they have, clean off all the old glue with a razor blade and apply the new stuff. it will get messy since the emblem is short. apply the glue evenly and then get masking tape to hold the emblem in place while the glue sets. that should be it

not to bring this back from the dead, but....

I got the bumper emblem off with no damage to the paint, and am ready to apply a brand new one.

I don't suppose anyone has a picture or two of a known-stock location (or factory measurements etc.) for the 'proper' location? i know the vary, but if there is a good example to follow, i'd rather do that than just eyeball it and kick myself a few months down the road when i find out I could have done better

I think it's slightly different on every car. I know this has come up with regards to the exact placement of the IROC door decal. Everyone's is a tad different.

lemme see here.....oh, this is nice pic!
