First time! Finally posting some pics of my car!

Hey!
I've finally gotten some pictures of my car scanned, so I thought I'd post them so everyone could tell me what they think. It definitely still has a ways to go, I haven't even touched the interior really, aside from swapping out the old 85 MPH cluster for a 120 MPH w/ electronic speedo (needed it for the T-56, and it looks a heckuva lot better) I tried to make the pictures a small enough file size that it wouldn't take you forever to d/l them if you don't have broadband, but anyway, here goes!

first off an overall interior view, nothing cleaned, this was the day I got her home

driver's seat

front quarter view, I don't think I'd washed it yet

here's a view of the nose after I got the engine and tranny in and had her running again

Sorry I don't have more pics of her now, but I do have some suspension, tranny, and engine pics that I'll post in their appropriate sections of the forum. Please, lemme know what you think...most people tell me I should have kept the '69 GTO (clone) convertible (400, 4 speed) but this car drives a lot nicer

Thanks for any and all input!

-Paul

oops! how did that get in there???? hehe, couldn't resist, that's my dad's '00 T/A 6 speed maple red....love driving that car

Thanks FyreLance!
I've thought about polished rims a lot, I just don't know if they'd go with the black and gold, you think they'd look good though? Maybe that's a job for someone who's good with Photoshop???? I've got Photoshop 7, but I'm not good enough to swap on polished rims like that.

-Paul

P.S. I forgot to mention that I eventually plan on swapping in 4th Gen seats (hopefully tan, but could settle for black) and a 4th Gen console.

I dunno I think that if that gold color could be maintained and it would just be polished and shiny that it would look neat.. don't think I've never seen it before though, and I don't have much experience with such things. Sounds like a cool idea to me though.

Looks good, and IMO the wheels look good in the original gold.

Thanks for the compliments guys, FyreLance, are you talking about that gold anodizing stuff that Eastwood has? you guys think a high gloss gold, almost a gold chrome would look good? I doubt I'll be changing rims for a while, since I've got brand new V rated Michelin Pilots on there, but they're only 15" rims, so I will undoubtedly be getting bigger rims at some point down the road. I love the 5 spokes like what's on my dad's TA, but I think they'd look out of place on my car with the same finish as what's on my dad's. If I could do that gold anodizing (or whatever it's called) do you think it'd look good? Thanks again for your input and compliments, if you want to see some more pictures check out the engine swap section, as well ans transmission and suspension sections!

Thanks 83! She could definitely be cleaner on the inside, but I guess it'll all come together in the end what do you think about the whole issue of polished rims? gold anodized maybe? I'm really getting curious about this now. Keep the comments coming!(positive or negative, I really don't mind criticism )

-Paul

BTW, I forgot to mention this in the original post but she had about 134,000 miles on the clock when I got her. I'm still kind of amazed that the seats aren't ripped up more, although they're not perfect.

I never cared for the black and gold look, but it looks good anyways

If it were mine I'd paint the GFX black and get different wheels, but thats just me.

Any 1/4 mile times yet? Maybe you want to set up a site over at www.cardomain.com ? Its free and a lot of people use it.

IROC57TPI,
Yeah it's not my color combo of choice either, but the paint is somewhat decent (not great by a long shot) and it's keeping the car from rusting for now. She'll probably stay that color until I finish college, at which point I think I'm going to repaint it with the primary color being Maple Red Metallic (same color as my dad's TA) but I can't decide what color I want the GFX to be....maybe just body color, but I think a nice complimenting color would look sweet, any suggestions on color combo and wheels? Or maybe Photoshop jobs? Thanks for the input, and keep it coming!

-Paul

P.S. No 1/4 mile times yet, sorry, I've only got about 500 miles on the new motor, and I don't have the carb dialed in yet, but as soon as I can run some times (probably will be with my neighbor's G-Tech) I'll post them

I think you should just leave the wheels the way they are.

Haha, right on 83! It's not my favorite, but it has grown on me a lot since I got the car. I certainly don't mind the combo, and I love the way the wheels look, especially since they were already re done when I got the car. I just hope the "re-do" job lasts, as there are a couple spots where the paint has chipped off oh well, time will tell Thanks again for the comments guys, keep 'em coming!

Ever since I saw Smokey And The Bandit I liked that color combination on the f-bodies. Black with the tan interior. My z has the tan interior, but the exterior is Maroon. It's a pain to keep clean, but it's worth it. I like that combination on the Corvettes too. A black car with a tan interior with the t-tops off has that look. Just an opinion.

That is one sweet looking 84. Ive got an 84 too. But mine is auto, and mine was red and black, but its got the tan interior, in a little worse shape than yours. Your body looks better than mine. Well maintained, and i like the engine mods. Oh heres a pic of my 84: Note lack of ground effects, beleive me though shes come a LONG way from when I got her.

Looks good 84TAProject, and thanks for the compliments! Back to the earlier comments about polished wheels. I finally found the stuff I was looking for, it's called Color Chrome and is a POR-15 product, you can check it out at http://www.brysondist.com/catalog/ColorChrome.html What do you guys think about that? Do you think that if I polished my rims and then used the gold ColorChrome over it that it'd look good? I'm just tossing this idea around, but I think it might look pretty cool. Also if I were to get some 4th gen style polished wheels they might look pretty cool with that Color Chrome on them. What do you think? Let me know!
