Here's a before pic, then the after pics. These are pics of a still work in progress-please don't think I'm keeping those nasty rims and tires. Going with Weld Draglites 15x5 up front and 15x10 out back. I had the guy black out my taillights, but I took the pics at night and it made them look like the lights were on, I'll get a different pic in the future. Hood turned out sweet IMO, I've personally never seen one like it, but who knows. Yes, I do need the extra cleance of the cowl-used to have my breather sticking through a hole I cut in the old factory firebird hood. Got the outside stuff pretty much bolted on, so this weekend I'm gonna start fitting the interior I bought out of a 99 bird. Should look pretty neat once ya open the doors. Need to hurry up so I can get back at the drivetrain before the track opens.

finally got the gauges mounted and pre-wired, just waiting for my gauge cluster from E-bay so I can get the speedo, tach, fuel, turn signals, high beam stuff all retro-fitted.

I got the dash as seen above going in, door panels as pic. below, the center console that I just recieved the other day and haven't takin a pic of yet, but it's an automatic out of a 2001 camero. I'm hopin with the console to fab in my ratchet shifter by only grinding enough out of the factory shifter hole for the shifter arm and T-handle so it'll look like a factory set-up. Might just be dreaming at this point as I'm yet to put any of it in the car, but I see a "start in 2nd gear" button in the console that might make a nice sniper release button for my "hidden" delay box. Just have to figure out how to make it work with the electronics of the whole thing. Moneys been spent-now it's head scrathcin time. As stated in the first post I'm going Weld Draglites 15x5 up front and 15x10 out back with 28x11.5 Hoosier DOT slicks-wanna fill front and back wheel wells with meat, so that's why I'm jumpin to 28" tall tires front and rear. Hopefully it'll give me a little extra ground clearance for the true dual exhaust as well-which I'm also redoing gonna run the 2.5" pipes down the tunnel and have the new bullet mufflers dump before the rear-need to get rid of the nasty sh.. that last years wanna be sponsor stuck under there.

posted the panels/dash in a different spot, but here they are in cased they were missed. Still alot of work to be done, hopefully all my new harnesses will be in this week as well as the new/old gauge cluster for the dash, at least then I can get the wireing mess all shored up. I got it easy on this swap as it's just my weekend track toy and sunny day fun, so everything none essential to the car is in the trash can, I can see if would be alot harder trying to get the HVAC stuff all working and factory gagues also, but like anything else, if you got the patience, time, and money all things are possible.

looks great! both in and out. I have one question though, what kind of hood is that? Is it aftermarket, or did you just put a cowl on the stock hood? If so, how did you do it? Is it welded, or molded?

Origianlly had the factory no frills firebird hood, once I got the tall intake and carb spacer I exceded the height of the stock hood, so knowing it was getting redone this winter I just zipped a hole for the breather to finish the season. I bought the fiberglass cowl off E-bay, but when I got it the cowl was too short to fill the length of the hood. Did'nt know until I spoke with the guy I bought it from he makes others for my original application that would expend all the way down to the nose. Anyway I came up with the GTA hood solution to fill the dead space between the front of the hood and the cowl, I've never seen another GTA cowl hood myself so that was another + in my book for originality. The guy sanded the hood to bare metal, laid down a bead of urethane, stuck the cowl into it, riverted down, fiberglassed in it, then feathered it with bondo for the factory apperance-in person everybody is amazeed how great it turned out-they look for flaws, but there is none in the hood-it did take him awhile to get it fined tuned to his expectations though. When you pop the hood you have no idea he riveted it, cause he made sure to place the rivets under the hood bracing, the few that did'nt get hid were ground down and blended back in. The underside of the hood looks just as good as most cars exteriors, think he got bored waiting on me getting the cage in so he got nuts on the underside, color sanded, buffed, glazed, the whole 9 yards. More than I expected him to do anyways. Here's a pic of what the cowl looked like sitting on the original hood when I first got the cowl-NASTY!! I think it looks pretty cool now, some guys don't like the cowls, I needed the 4 3/4" height of it, and the full length cowl was only 2".

****t I forgot abouthis post, been a long summer racing and working. The entire dash/door panels are from a 98 Firebird I got everything from Hawks, he really worked with and got all the little peices I needed to complete the dash and such, lots of little peices we both took for granted until I went to start the install. Still got the factory rear Rims are the Weld Draglites 5" up front-think standard backspacing don't remeber having a choice, rears are 15x10 with 5.5" BS fit great no hacking with any of my slick combinations this year, all were Hoosier, 26x9.5, then 27x11.5, and now full out slicks 28x10 and I think these are max size, next ones are going to be 29x9, would like 29x10 but no room until I back half next winter, gotta do the drivetrain this winter. Here's some updated pics, this newer style dash is going to work out perfect since I have to intsall a halo and down bars up front on the cage since I hope to be in the 10's next season and the factory air vents are in perfect placement for the down bars-got lucky agian.

Sorry, right now I have no other pics than what's in the above posts of the door panels and the car is put up for the winter until I get the new drivetrain, then we'll get 'er back out and I'll try to get some pics for ya. Just be for-warned, the dash is a simple install the door panels bite azz. I really like what Fatal did with the door handles making it all 4th gen, but I was running out of time before racing started so I had to get er done so to speak. They work, just no as fancy as as the new style.

Sunroof, not by my choice. When I got the car it had a sunroof in it, but it was all red, red glass, red trim, real seal...ugly and gaudy as hell. Looked around for a replacement and the local crack head or should I say idiot had a brand new he bought and was needin money so I offereed $35 for this one and he took it. Just needed something to fill the hole and look better than the one that was in there. This is just a standard pop up type.
